And it was a one off game, Crystal Dynamics never had plans to make another. Just about everyone here has long finished playing GOL.
So next time Crystal comes out with a game, I only have one year to play it?

Next time Crystal + Square Enix tries to sell me something I'm not going to pay attention.

Agreed. If they disable co-op purposefully then they shouldn't advertise it as having online co-op.

Less than 1 out of 10 gamers are playing it. Much less talking about it.

Have you seen how many reviews are on the app store? About 40. It's not even as successful as say, Angry Birds.

That's why I always say: Don't believe the critics.

I have never in life seen a mode taken out of a game simply because no one was using it. That has never happened before. Was it THAT bad?

Uh, yes.
Now, I'm not an app specialist, but no way in hell would GoL be as successful as a game like Angry Birds.

Well, then we'd be getting into real gaming vs. casual gaming on iOS, but that's a-whole-other topic.

So you'd rather play a game which works best with a controller with two analog sticks on a platform which doesn't use a single button for games? This makes sense.

To be fair, EA removes the online mode off their games as they please. It doesn't matter if people are still playing the game -- it's to save bandwidth or whatever.

All online multiplayer games have their servers shut down eventually. Sone sooner than others. People should know that by now.

Touch screens, joysticks, what's the difference?

Out of curiosity and somewhat related, does that game have local multiplayer via bluetooth? I don't see why that option would be disabled, as it needs no servers. In that case, they could still promote the game as a co-op title.
