Smile First Jungle Level

EDIT 4/11/2017: Level is completed and is available here - http://trle.net/sc/levelfeatures.php?lid=3004

Thought it was time to start a thread on this project as I have a great looking area. I posted screenshots in other threads but now the texturing is completed.

Here are four screenshots of the area in question.

It's not a perfect job as there are probably many texturing mistakes but they can easily be solved (I hope).

If there are any improvents anyone can suggest, please do and I hope you like the screenshots.

Thanks. Now I know how to make transition textures, I can hopefully blend the scenery together for a more realistic appearence.

Should I try to avoid flat walls here as much as possible or does that not matter in some cases?

I usually try to avoid flat walls in taller rooms, if it's something like a 8 click room, then there's not much problem, i think.

Right, I have a few problems texturing this cave. Trying to use TR3 Gold Highland Fling rock textures.

The problem is that texturing the way I intended seems to look unrealistic as shown here.

Any advice?

Thanks. Regarding the texturing, I decided to play other custom levels that use TR3 Gold textures to get an idea on how they can be applied.

Wow, that's really looking great ! You did a nice work with the textures !
Hope you are planning gameplay aswell How's it going on this side ?

EDIT : For the caves, maybe you can make the ceiling a tiny bit higher ?

Thanks. I am planning gameplay as well. For example, the cave may be hiding something to gain access to another area. I really should do more planning before continuing. Don't want this project falling apart.

As for the caves, I can raise the ceiling but the texturing is a slight issue, but I suppose as long as it's not the same texture repeated then it shouldn't be a problem, right?
