Talking She got it wrong in one of her tutorial.

Ok, once you reach the water pool in the opera back stage, she'll say use action to swim forward and the direction to steer, well. The voice actress just got confused between action and jump while in the water.

The dialogue was also correct for the Dreamcast version.

Probably not a problem with from the voice actress. By the way there's the same problem with the French version.
TRC was the TR I had played, so at first it confused me, she was not moving and I was like "Wait whaaaaaat? Why does she stay still?!", and... I remembered how it worked in Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, because I panicked the same way when I was playing this as a child. And fortunately it was also the same key.

But is the dialogue changed, or is the Action button assigned for swimming on the PS and Dreamcast? If I'm not mistaken it's also Jump on the PS for swimming...

It's jump on every platform as far as I am aware. I just can't comment on the Dreamcast version haha.

Sorry to bump this thread but my game on PC says action to swim forward while the PS1 version says jump to swim forward.

They are correct, she does get it wrong in the PC version. And it’s jump for every system.

Interesting how this never occurred to me while playing it. Just had muscle memory of jump being the button to swim. Presumably Jonell got her words mixed up on one take, they re-recorded it, and for some reason forgot to send the correct take to the team handling the PC version? Or maybe they were experimenting with control layouts but changed it at the last minute.

no I think that deppends how you play with your keyboard. I noticed most people use ctrl and alt buttons on the left side of the keyboard, well I play with the ctrl and alt on the right side of it, right next to the directional buttons, and the jump button can also be used as action. I never used it as an action, though if for example you jump with your pistols on the hands, she will shoot them - and this will not happen if you play with the ctrl and alt from the left side. maybe this has something to do with this?

^Interesting point. I wonder how Core Design actually thought out the original Control Scheme.

I use Left CTRL and Left ALT, but maybe Core Design intended to use ALT GR and Right CTRL. Which would kind of make sense, since most of the time you use the Action Key to grab. Using ALT GR omits the Action Key part, since it is already there.
