In the case of Kane & Lynch 2 it certainly gives the game an unique look since IO Interactive didn't only make the cam shaky but added a lot of visual artefacts (aside from lens flares) that are usually only produces by cheap cameras IRL. And they at least give you the option to turn the shaky cam off during gameplay.

But in TR it's really annoying since it's just that the camera is shaky. But aside from that the game looks very clean which makes the camera shaking more obvious.

Yeah, I guess you're right about that. I would probably dislike camerashake in any games regardless though. In my opinion it just doesn't belong in a game.

It's because shaky cams are relatable in third person adventure games
