How do you do the ledge bug?
This is another glitch in the game that I liked watching and not even sure if it is called the ledge bug, but here is a video of it being used in a speedrun, Video by Jarekhanzelka.
So how do you do it? Also I think I have seen it done on a run of one of the levels in TR2. |

It is ledge bug indeed. You just jump up a slope and press action on top. It's fairly tricky and will take loads of retries before you actually manage it, but there really isn't much more to it. Just keep trying from the same distance and angle as I did in the video and you'll nail it eventually.

Wow, that's new to me
And seeing the video made me wonder, how come is a trigger for going to the next level there? |

I would add that this location is a bit deceptive - I kept trying from a point too close to the slope. You keep holding Forward and release Jump. I found it helps to think of pressing Action an inch or two before you hit the vertical part.
I would have called this the Vault Bug (because during a vault, you press Action and Forward), but we usually go with the name the discoverer chooses, xXApelaumXx in this case. There's a plausible (to me) argument that this is not a glitch - you do a normal vault, you just time it carefully so Lara doesn't have a chance to start sliding on the slope. Here's one of my favorite places for this bug, in Madubu Gorge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bv_Ay6JCDs |

For me that bug is very difficult to do because i suck at it after i stopped practicing but usually for certain people they still do it well even after a year without practicing not for me. At least i can manage at all.

I spent about two and half hours getting back to Madubu Gorge (foolishly didn't keep any save there on my laptop) but I tried them and, after a few failures, managed to get across to the temple on the other side of the river. Yay! Not such to see or do there, the bridge almost disappears, there's a ghost block on the left hand side, and nearby you can get to walk on a very limited area of inivisble platforms and on the right you can recross the river further upstream. Good to get here after so many years trying to find a way myself. |
