Default Last Valley Teleportation.

Anyone else notice this? Lara and the T-Rex teleport to other side of the Lost Valley for the boss fight, even though its only possible to go between the two (In Anniversary anyway) by climbing.

Yes. I remember it bugged me back in the day during my countless replays, but there's many things about The Lost Valley that I wish were different. In retrospect I wish they'd kept The Lost Valley dark, or at least underground in a cave. I realize that the "darkness" in TR1 came from limited graphical capacity at the time, but it still created an illusion of being trapped. To me, The Lost Valley was always this lush underground mythical cave, and they changed all that in Anniversary with the open sky. It took away parts of the magic. I also wish they kept the stage more similar to the original from where you enter to where all the cogs are. They fooled around with The Lost Valley's geometry a little too much for it to make sense. Also, the T-Rex battle shouldn't have been a closed boss fight.

Turns out I was (half) wrong, on PC at least, Lara and the T-Rex still teleport, but there's a path that lets them both reach the other area (that the player can use to backtrack if you forget the cog somehow.), so they could get over there, its just not shown for some strange reason.

But on the PSP version of anniversary minor changes were made to some areas and the Lost Valley has a noticeable one, the path is actually blocked by a giant stone wall. (so Lara and the T-rex teleport THROUGH the wall after the cutscene) this also means a small bit of jumping is replaced with a cave through the side of the mountain.

Yeah it doesn't make a huge amount of sense, but it doesn't particularly bother me, I mean... I won't go into a T-Rex battle looking for realism.

The teleport always bugged me, it just turns what was an organic fight where you choose how to approach it into a standard arena boss fight.
