Unfortunately TRviewer does not work for TR5, as it only supports TR1 to TR4.
And TRviewer is a very useful tool. Now if someone wants to redesign TRviewer for use in TR5, as we have some members that are really good at code editing on this forum, then please go ahead For a visual look of the whole level, you can use 'Tombviewer' which reads TR5 levels ok. It is not going to give you any technical information, as its just a visual program. Last edited by The Great Chi; 22-05-18 at 16:44. |

I know that you can modify the levels but what i meant was the support is partial and not full support, so its not the size of the file it has nothing to do with that crashing, its just most of the TR5 stuff is unknow. this means that for the porgrams the can do some modification(like fexmerger) it will mess up the whole data and corrupt the level because there is no proper support. i hope that you understand me now. but when we have a proper support then we can do any type of modification to TR5, just like in TR4,3,2,1 Scripter4 works fine on win10 64bit and 7, I think you need to install the WAD Runtime |

I just do not ever see it changing from that, as modders have moved on to new generation TR4 custom game's, that can do a lot more now than TR5 modding. |

Tomb editor is perfectly able to create working tr5 files. And script.dat is the same of tr4 but i need to check it. However i am working on something interesting about tr5 and i will explain this in a few weeks.

Really, if you want to try, Tomb Editor builds perfectly working TR5 levels. With Wad Tool, you can create a Wad2 for your level starting from TR5 levels.
Additionally, for trying this faster, Tomb Editor in the last updates can load compiled levels instead of Wads for placing objects. |

You said that TRC files are already too large - is there a maximum file size that the game can handle before it is unable to load any more data? Does anyone know if it's because of too many polygons, objects, floor+trigger data, or simply the file size is too large?

Probably it overflows the game buffer. When TR5 is initialised, a buffer of 5 MB is allocated with standard C functions. Then, when loading a level or other things, a fraction of this buffer is requested. But if you request too memory, beyond 5 MB, the engine will stop doing allocations.

Ah ok. So level size can't exceed 5MB? (well slightly less than 5MB because other small things will take up the buffer)
