To be fair, you barely see her in ONE of the games fly-by intros, they didn't really need to give her alot of detail, you should see the crowd in most wrestling games.

You never actually saw her face in the flyby anyway.

The level files in Chronicles are named after the developers who created each section. Andrea Cordella, Richard Morton, Andy Sandham, and Joby Wood. It's my understanding that the levels they built were named after them, which would mean Andrea built the Rome section. (Andy did Ireland, Joby the submarine, and Rich VCI). I'm not sure if that's what you meant by the way you phrased it, but the Rome levels were named for Andrea Cordella, it didn't have anything to do with Lara's mother. Just a coincidence.

EDIT: It's also worth nothing that Andrea Cordella is a man.

Here's the male in the title fly-by:

Looks a way older than Mulder would have been. That and the hat kind of kills the whole resemblance, but he's a little bit more high quality than the re-used Natla model.

This is very true. You only see the fly-by characters for mere seconds and of course, they had no way of knowing that people would eventually dig into the game files (and even if they did, why would they bother to make high-res models for something that is not seen in-game?). But if you think those two are bad, have a look at these:

Jean-Yves face is an absolute low-res mess.

They didn't bother at ALL with the Egyptian workers. This is just one, but the others also do not have a face texture.

To be honest they look still better than LOD characters in some modern games and the distance is similar.

You do realize that the egyptian workers are actually just miniature figures because the camera is meant to be very far away.
Modern games do exactly the same. It has to look good and perform well. Almost everything is just smoke and mirrors in Gamedev
