Default Lara in green catsuit

Hello there,
I haven't understand a thing about Lara's VCI outfits, infact ingame Lara wears a black shiny suit, but if I open the TRC files with Wad Merger the suit appears green, why ?

Do you have a comparison picture?

It's most likely a texture/material that the game finally transforms to that shiny black latex. You could well ask why there are no visible joints when viewed with this kind of a program - it's the game's job to render a character properly.

That catsuit looked awful in-game anyway. It had no discernible texture to it, not even a zipper, it just looked like Lara had dipped herself in some tar.

I much prefer the TR3 London outfit for a stealthy cityscape get-up.

I think this is what LGG_PRODUCTION is referring to:

LARA_SKIN shows her green, but I think the game interprets it as a dark and shiny. The Last Revelation and Chronicles have a feature to make textures shiny. There's an option for that available in PixStr. (last tab on the bottom left of the screenshot attached)

I believe it's a replacement texture for the shiny-black texture of the catsuit.
The same effect could be obtained by actually using a black texture and applying a shiny effect on it, but that would likely crash the game as Lara's joints cannot accept the shiny value.
This is likely another one of those hacks Core is known for. They were not really into fixing their mistakes in the source code, they preferred to hack their way around it :P

I liked the costume but I also liked reading your criticism of it

Yeah, I like the shiny effect, but its just..black, no zippers or anything.

I also liked it but the missing zipper appears to be an oversight since she does have one in the FMV scenes
The shiny effect was a nice touch though!

Oh, an interesting thing is, if you happen to give yourself flares in a level which features the catsuit, they won't have any models bound to them so a flare will default to model 0 (Lara's bum) which... will have the green texture instead of being properly colorized by the game.

A savegame for those that want to give it a try without hacking the game on their own - have fun!
There are also other weapons available (which don't crash the game when equipped) and some other toys like the unused combinable HK Gun Silencer.
