Hi guys.

I got plenty much to do for the university. Exams are within the next two weeks
So there's not really much I can show you guys.
I pushed myself into MotionBuilder for animating. I created a new running animation and also no jumping animations.

I decided to do a mix between TRLA and Classic TR regarding ledge climbing.
Lara won't jump with full power anymore. She kind of knows where a ledge is.
She does not align herself to it (This is the main difference to TRLA!) but jumps with less "forward power" which means it's a bit more fluid when it comes to grabbing and she won't slide along the wall if you jump against it (unlike in Classic TR, where you jump against a wall and press grab -> Lara slides along the wall and eventually slips underneath it, if there's space)

Lara will now also "save herself" (like in TRLAU) if the jump was not perfect and would end up on the ledge.
Again : She does not align herself, but only saves herself.

An animation for this "Ledge Saving" can be seen here:

(Placeholder animations. Most of them will be refined and the Ledge-Grab animation is just dumb )


I get distracted by some unnecessary things though. I played around with the Particle System again, because I wanted to recreate the shockwaves similar to TR3 when a boss dies

I'm not really sure if I'm a fan of this change. The animation is good, anyway, but I have to say I prefeer TR AoD system, with the 4 jumping distances (small hop, standing jump, running jump, sprinting jump).

I will save my opinion 'till I see it working properly.

oh god. you make it sooo good. Everything is perfect. Keep work. I think first make ledge system finish than the other things.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with this. Running jumps add a lot more to platforming, and it is a big part of the classic gameplay. Removing this feature just makes the game have TRLA movement and isnt that the exact opposite of the point of this project

Nice to see talented fans taking back the franchise that was stolen from us! I wouldn't even know where to begin building such a custom game. So nice work thus far!
