Music cue issues
Hey guys
 Playing through the PC games for the first time and think they're great, but when you get to a music prompt there's a small pause in gameplay while it loads the song from the disc. Is there anything that can be done to make it seamless? I've seen people on youtube who don't have this issue. Looking for a bit of help, it's not a BIG deal, but it does detract from the playing experience. It happens on both my TR2 & TR3 games. Please help!

you could use an image
so the cdrom isn't really accessed, the HD file is and a small timing enhancement may be anticipated note that the image you'll mount ought to be of the cue/bin format (vs. iso or whatever) especially for mixed mode cdroms ie with TR<3.

Have you tried running the Multipatch?
To patch the games for XP/Vista/Win 7 With that patch you won't need to run TRII & TRIII with the disc

 The multipatch worked a treat, I can now play without the awkward music jumps and even without the discs! Thanks a bunch

Don't know if I should make a new thread or not...
but now, when I load the game, there's no sound whatsoever. The Eidos and Core intros have sound as well as the first cut-scene, but the game doesn't have any music or sound effects? Only since the install of the multipatch has it done this, but the first time I tried it it worked fine.  Now it's a big deal. On TR2, there's sound effects but no music, on TR3 there's NO sound whatsoever. Really starting to annoy me! Just want to play :'( Help??

Yeah I tried that, it still wouldn't work. The textures looked bad too, similar to the PS1.
I just reinstalled the game, I'll have to live with the awkward music pauses.  But thanks

For TR1: Download Advanced Solution Installer v1.6 from THIS page.
For TR2 and TR3: Run Diagnose.exe and post the report.

Thanks for the help. Just before I post the diagnosis, thought I'd mention that I've just been playing my re-installed TR3 for about 3 hours, then it crashed, and it's gone back to no sound and bad textures. Strange.

Don't bump please.
Let's try with the following simple step: try updating chipset and video drivers for your laptop. The problem grounds in Intel IGC (Integrated Graphic Crapcessor) getting screwed in some video modes. Thus after updating drivers, try running TR3 in the lowest hardware mode (800x600, 16bit colour, advanced settings disabled).
