Something about the graphics, they seem raw and gritty which is nice. I like the desaturated colours and how dead the lost places feel in contras tot how alive the lost valley felt.
The game took what Legend made, and designed the game around those features much better, which is odd considering it's a remake of a game which has a totally different movement system. Combat was the best the series has seen, IMO. Although the adrenalin dodge I can do without, but compared to the other bullet-time features in Legend and Underworld, it was perhaps the finnest. However I never mastered the move where you fly over the enemies head. |

Tomb Raider Anniversary:
1: The Amazing Tomb Raider 1 Story again! 2: The additions to the Storyline was very Nice and it tied very well with Legend & Underworld. 3: The Great Graphics and the Remix of some old Soundtrack from TR 1. 4: The Soundtrack was Great. 5: The Gameplay except sometimes the Adrenaline Dodge which could be a bit Irritating if it gets to repetitive like in some cases. 6: The Locations and the Great sense of isolation. 7: The New Look of Natla and Larson. 8: Playing outside of The Mountain caves Unlike TR1. 9: Lara's TR1 Look is better here than ever before. |

CroThe updated version of Croft manor from Legend was great! I also like the idea they took fom TR1 that it was under construction.

win!
I loved the AD . and the centaur battle and the battle in the piramid against that giant beast which you have to get over the edge ; the improved graphics ; greece and egypt where really charming all the levels where pretty ; one of the only downsides was actually the shortness ; for the rest ; loved the game |

For me:
1) Croft Manor, something about it is just magical, especially the music 2) St. Francis Folly is fantastic 3) All of Egypt just about... There were some unnecessarily frustrating parts, mainly in Obelisk of Khamoon, but I can overlook those. 4) The Fire room in Palace Midas. While I do agree that Midas is a bit smaller in TRA, people seem to forget about this room, which was huge compared to the original. In TR1 the fire room is just a hallway with 4 pillars and a moat... |

People seem to be forgetting that TR1 is a 1996 game, of course it isn't gonna be as good as a newer game on new consoles ..
I liked the costumes (except the god aweful ****take that is the Classic TR1 outfit - which I had to mod on PC with TR1 textures .. its the face .. urgh) Peru and Greece levels were the only ones that seemed to stick to the classic style .. Egypt was altered a fair bit and Atlantis was a let down .. (all so they could tie it into TRU and Legend ..) I wanted the fleshy walls and the heart beating music .. hmmmph The cistern was missing and was merged into Tomb Of Tihocan, kinda made sense but the level should have been bigger with more side rooms in the main sewer (which is a section of Cistern) I never liked Natla's alien look, was too obvious .. was better in TR1 as it was a shock that she was a goddess .. she was tall but looked human. |

Well, I did like that they actually re-made the old TR1 game, it was interesting to go through the levels and find the resemblances.
I also enjoyed the atmosphere, the sounds, the attention they put to it, and the memories the game brought. As though there were many flaws, but there were also many pluses. oh, and I loved adrenaline dodge |

The audio was excellent. Not the music, but the sound was quite atmospheric.
