Maybe there can be both TRNG with TR5 features and TR5Main with some things of TR4..

But I know that it's a huge work that requires a lot of time..
The reason why they're using TR5 instead of TR4/TRLE is that they have enough technical data (left accidentally on some discs by the developers) for TR5 to make such a project but not for TR4/TRLE. It's not just a matter of preference (even if it matters too, because of several improvements the TR5 engine has over TR4).
But as he said, he will try to import other game's objects, so TR4 objects should work eventually.

This post just disappeared, fortunately I still have loaded from yesterday. Probably just a simple technical issue I guess...

Technically it is. The only real thing I'm concerned about is how Paolone won't share anything, so it will stay the way it is instead of being improved or reused. There's nothing wrong with this, his work was not useless, but if just keeps it for himself then other devs won't be able to use it at all, so it will actually be useless and forgotten once other tools have outdistanced it.

Why did it disappear? It's not like it was spam, it was just saying the truth. It's not saying TRNG is bad, for the time it was created it was fine, but it was basically a patch of an old engine with lots of workarounds, so even if it allows for so many things now, it's not a perfect solution, the way it's built. There's nothing wrong with saying that.

Constructive criticism is good, your post is a good example of this. The post I removed wasn't constructive in any way, it was outright bashing.

I'm testing TR5 engine and I'm finding some bugs:
-Some textures have wrong coloured parts;
-Lara's hair looks wrongly remapped to Lara..

From what I gathered, we look at the whole "remap" thing from Core's opposite point of view: they didn't have to "remap" anything, they just created a model for Lara and coded the game so that her hair would stick together. We cannot do that, hence we found the workaround of remapping vertices.
Lara's hair should be "mapped" to her according to the level number: for Rome levels the vertices used the same of classic TR4 skin, for Russia levels they changed them because the model changed. Same with Ireland and VCI. Ireland should be the same of Young Lara, I'm not sure about VCI.

I tried with a custom outfit, VCI outfit (it appears green), TR5 classic, TR4 classic, but the hair doesn't work properly..

Another problem is that when I click "build level" a TR4 level will generate, but I set TR5 in the options.
The level works because I change the extention from TR4 to TR5.

Are you renaming and overwriting an existing level? Which one?
If not, what is the number of the level in your custom script?
