Default Failed to setup Direct X?

My tomb4 started giving me the message a week ago when I started it, I've re-downloaded Direct X to try and fix it but it still displays this message.

Please help.

I had this same problem happen last week. I uninstalled my original level editor and TRNG level editor programs and re-installed them, which took care of the problem. Be sure to save any working files or savegames you want to keep! Hope this helps fix yours!

Start>run> dxdiag >enable the disabled, it may work, or change the version

i happened to me some days ago, it was caused by video card overload, (i had opened level editor, metasequoi, 3ds max and some other programs) just by closing all of them and restarting would solve the problem (in my case)

Or run -setup again, it sometimes helps me. Especially if you changed your compatibility mode.

Try changing your resolution. I always get this message when I output a level using the 'exit and play' button on NGLE if my TRLE resolution is 1366x768 (my native resolution), but not if the resolution is 1280x768 or 1024x768.

@ Mytly - That's exactly when it happened with me, when using "exit and play" on NGLE, however I was at 1024x768 resolution which is max for my system. It must vary for different systems or graphics cards. Interesting.

@ Boobandie - Let us know if one of these solutions helps!

Rerunning the Setup.exe got it to work. Can't believe I didn't try it before.

I had changed the compatibility settings previously, I think this is what caused it to bug in the first place.

Thank you guys for the help, my Tomb Raider works again.
