I'm shocked to see that people are actually NOT bothered by them

It is pretty silly to see white paint on every piece of wood or ledge you find. I just don't understand why they can't take a note or two from Uncharted in regards to ledges. Some are obvious some aren't. All are visible in TR. With that and Survival Instincts it's just too much help.

It actually surprises me that people seemed to be more bothered by the white ledges than the super annoying pop ups that tell you how to dodge roll or that there's a tomb nearby 50,000 times. I don't mind having a pop up once to teach me a move, but it should only be told once and no more. Any more than once it gets annoying and completely takes me out of the game.

They are both examples of excessive hand-holding. Both equally awful. People are just more sensitive to the ledges, since they've been around much longer.
Are you sure that's not a bug, though? ![]()

They definitely could have been optional. All layers of "white paint" in the game were transparent textures added on top of level geometry.

Part of the non-linear platforming in the reboot is (hunni, you know I just said part, but gerl u know this is the only raisin) so people don't get stuck or lost. They know the general direction to go in, and there's basically always a way to get there, no matter which direction you run in.
And so, white ledges are somewhat redundant in this sense. Hence why they should address the real problem, the limited and inconsistent interaction that pales in comparison to the original Tomb Raider games. If this game gotta be modern, y'all best make it modern. Y'all. Best make it modern.

I want to really look for the way and see how do I get to a certain place.
What is worse than white ledges or paint on ledges, is paint on walls that tells you to do a wall jump. Seriously, Paint at the highest towesr hundreds of meters above the ground. Who put it there. Give the game some tough difficulty for God's Sake. Not mercenaries who need 100 shots to die
