I only used help from a walkthrough only for TR: The Last Revalation. I beat all the other ones with no help.

I used one for the battle with Karel. I would never have guessed that we need to jump up to the sleeper to put the Obscura painting on it.
Lara could've fallen to her death from that height. |

If I have tried to do something more than three times I usually glance at a walkthrough, but only if I need to

I used a walkthrough only if im stuck, like i have been running round for ages trying to figure out what to do next, but i never just look at a walkthrough because its there.
Only in extreme circumstances! |

I must plead guilty to having used walkthroughs from time to time.
There is a good site that instead of giving complete walkthoughs, just gives hints to common parts of games where people usually get stuck. First you get a difficult hint, then, if you need another, you just click on the next one, and they get easier and easier as you go along. It is free to use it online but they charge if you want to download a special reader. The site is at: http://www.uhs-hints.com/ They have hints for hundreds of different games - mostly adventure types. At the moment the only Tomb Raiders they cover are TR2 and TR4. They are at: http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/tr2.php and http://www.uhs-hints.com/uhsweb/tr4.php |

I only use them in really creepy scary areas. Being scared sh*tless kinda ruins the game for me. Yeah, I'm a wuss. ^_^
But if there is someone watching me play then I can usually handle it without a guide. |

I bought one for TR3 so I could get all the secrets and complete the puzzles without tearing all my hair out.
I've also been known to look for hints when stuck in a room for hours or days, or when I come up against a boss who keeps on killing me before I can figure out what I'm meant to do. I'm confident I'm not the only one who gets frustrated by lack of info in those cases. Legend was a bit of a nuisance for that. |
