It's very hard to scare people these days. I didn't find It scary, because the idea of finding a clown scary is just not valid for me and I bet many, many people can say the same. Still, I thought the movie was a pretty solid and well-executed kids mystery/adventure movie with thrills and some graphic stuff.

The original one was boring to me, it had some parts that made me laugh, like the lady in the beginning with the awful scream and serious wedgie, but I never was scared. It also seemed way too long, I still till this day have no idea of what happened in the original “IT”.

I still have yet to watch the new one, I need to watch it and see if it’s actually worth the hype or not.

IMO it was hyped up to be this big scary movie to get more people in seats. It's a very well made movie with great characters and acting but the hype made a lot of people disappointed.

I liked the film... it was FAR better than the original.
The original looked camp and it was for TV so super low budget.. not scary.

This new one isn't scary as such (unless you hate clowns)
The redone scenes were far better too - like the blood from the bathroom sink scene..

I like how they got rid of the "grown up" segments of the original story and kept it in one timeline.
The original plot jumped all over the place from the 50s to the 80s.
I guess they'll keep that for a sequel.. showing the kids growing up, and 27 yrs later having to face IT all again

I like how they modified the scares too.. so no cheesy werewolf at the movies this time around ( although this is references in one scene where you see a wolf paw)

Except they felt so cliche and non scary. They were exactly like all other horror films these days. A major disappointment imo.

James McAvoy and Bill Hader in negotiations to star in IT: Chapter Two

What fantastic casting. James McAvoy will make a perfect adult Bill.

Well, we all know who Bill Hader will play without even looking at the article, don't we

Maybe that joke of Chris Pratt playing Ben could have some actual weight to it if they're going after the bigger stars.

Jessica Chastain confirmed as Beverly. I know some people wanted Amy Adams, but Chastain is a perfect fit for me. Really looking forward to this one.

I initially wanted Bryce Dallas Howard as Beverly, but I'm happy with Chastain. She looks enough like Beverly IMO, I can see her in the role. I am over the moon with the casting for Bill though. Hope the casting for Eddie and Ben is as good.

I mean, without being too dramatic, the girl who played Beverly in the first film literally looks and sounds and acts like Amy Adams after taking a youth potion. I think Jessica is a fine actress, but come on, Amy Adams was right there.
