Run argdiag and post the report, did some research and may be able to remove that bad file this way.

Okay couldn't find it on the list so I know it's not an autorun.

Try this (Uninstall & reinstall CD drive.)

1. Right-click on 'My Computer' and go to properties.
2. Find the Hardware Tab, once on there click on Device manager.
3. Once on there, take a print screen.
4. Post it on here, and I should help you from there.

^ Okay looks as if it doesn't recognize your disc drive.

So try and delete that Disc folder you mentioned in your OP, if you can't then use unlocker. Right-click the folder and click on unlocker, in the drop down select delete and ok, or if it's open with any process click on unlock all. Then reboot.

If that doesn't help then gonna have to do it an alternate way. But firstly in device manager at the top find the icon with the computer & the magnifying glass, click on that. If there's no changes to the list in there then do below. If there is notify me, and if you want, post a screen print.

Alternate method.

1. On My Computer
2. If you can see the CD drive, then right click go on properties.
3. Find Hardware, then click on the drive there. You should recognize it, as in the type section should say CD or DVD drive.
4. Click on properties at the bottom, then go to the driver tab.
5. Click uninstall there, when it's uninstalled restart your computer. Let me know of the results.

1. Never double post when you can freely edit your previous message.

2. Do you have proper drivers installed for your card reader device?

3. Try disconnecting card reader completely and reboot the PC. Is the disc drive working now?

4. Run Diagnose.exe and post the report.

sorry about double posting

and to be more embarrassed, the cd came out when i ejected it this morning, but it still didnt detect a dvd/cd drive on the pc, so i rebooted, then it started to work normally. strange.
i don't know how, but i think it involved trfan's help.

anyway, thanks for all your help

EDIT nevermind it's not detecting it anymore
I think it was becasue i put an mp3 cd and it stopped responding.

What do you mean latest drivers for card reader device.
