Have you seen this goat in any custom levels?
This image is from TR4 level: Pharos, Temple of Isis.
I felt very strange when I saw it, because I don't remember I've seen the goat statuary in custom levels. Is it goat or sheep? Last edited by xtimz; 07-02-18 at 17:10. Reason: Is it goat or sheep? |

I don't think I've seen it in custom levels indeed. Probably because the Pharos wad wasn't given with TRLE like some other Egyptian wads, I guess ^^
I did a bit of resarch and it seems it may rather be a ram, which apparently is a symbol of fertility. As ram-headed gods I found mainly Khnum :https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khnum, and as well Amun-Re which could be associated with it : http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/amun-re.htm Since Isis herself is the goddess of fertility (among other things) : http://www.ancient-egypt-online.com/isis.html, that's probably why they used a symbol of fertility there. One of the most famous locations of ram-sphinxes like those is at Luxor, leading to the Temple of Karnak:

Most of the textures and objects from that level are in the default package, so most people don't really look at that particular level when looking for other assets.
Those statues aren't exactly the nicest looking in the game anyway. Only other unique thing the level has is the hammerhead shark, I think. |
