That's like saying "forget about feeling the situation and feel the situation".
The intense atmosphere is there alright, however the rest is not. What bothered me about the climb was that it seemed to be the accumulation of all the platforming experiences we had learned throughout the game... which was very little. They would have done well to just get rid of those upwards ladder-climbing, and the "balance" beams. Just give us some good old crumbling platforms and craggy walls, with real timed danger. I think this is one of the coolest platforming moments in the climb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...aRYepCf4#t=258 I just wish they didn't use slow motion. Also, the puzzle with the wind, and the thingy, and smashing it through the door, those wind puzzles are really cool. edit: I would die if we had dynamic changing weather in the next game. Imagine an intense thunder storm just... happening? edit: You know, really. What that sequence was missing was Himiko. At the very end, as lightning is striking the ice above you, there's no danger of the falling rocks hitting your, or even yourself being struck. They should have used a wider craggy wall, perhaps one that fully surrounded the center structure, and had us climb up as rocks fell from above (which we would need to dodge) and perhaps even with some intelligence to where the lightning was striking. Might be a little bit gamey, but perhaps having a a visual cue appear on parts of the ice where the lightning is about to strike. Or perhaps the lightning always strikes us, and it is the sound of Himiko's voice in the wind which warns us we're about to be fried. Last edited by larafan25; 11-02-14 at 01:13. |

Did anyone else want to jump on the backs of the deers and ride them like a horsey?

Mountain Village and Coastal Forests. I remember the first time I looked up at the mountain after Roth passed out, the dark huts littering the climb and the single blinking red light in the distance, and that feeling was... amazing. Same thing happened in coastal forests. On my first playthrough, I was derping around, for those collectibles. It was completely dark. Standing on one of those perches, I turned on survival instinct and saw two dears running by noisily below me, and a rabbit not far away. That moment I felt as if I was actually there, in a forest, surrounded by nature. Moments like these is what makes me fan of a game.

Totally agreed. The whole time after Lara enters the final level was pure gold, atleast for me. Last edited by pirate1802; 11-02-14 at 09:11. |

I'll have to try that one. The seers and the rabbits know. They watch as you kill.

Summit forest! So lovely and peaceful with some great stealth. Also quite alot to explore in this area! The game gets so much better after Roth dies - it's like the game director is a completely different person after that point.
Secondly I would say the beach.. which coincidentally comes right after the summit forest. Lovely scenery and no ridiculous combat. Special mention would go to the first forest where Lara finds her bow. Lovely and quiet! Though I wasn't a fan of all visual choices in the game (grey and brown, booh!!), they really nailed the forests and the foliage <3 Least favorite area is the Shanty Town.. Shipwreck Beach just ahead of Coastal Forest and Mountain Village.
