Red face

SORRY burninglight!!! I gave you the wrong program!
Here is what you need: FRAPS < - linkie.

Fraps can be used with all games using DirectX or OpenGL technology. Fraps performs many tasks and can best be described as: Benchmarking Software, Screen Capture Software and Realtime Video Capture Software.
Note:- The free version watermarks the video with DEMO

Sorry again.

And then, burninglight: If you are using FRAPS to capture video it will generate huge files. To optimise, edit and compress the video, use either Windows Movie Maker (available on Win XP) or download this free Video editing tool Virtual Dub.

Hello Net! Nice find!
Do you know by the way, how to solve burninglights "this is not a valid win32 program" problem? Knowledgebase i found some cases, but not the right one. We once had a case with a simple solution. Remember?

Are you on XP, burninglight? Maybe right-click on it and use the W98/ME compatibilty mode?

Sorry if you didn't notice i thought i already said it: Fraps is for capturing a videogame, VirtualDub is for editing. It is a "utility that can trim and clean up video before exporting to tape or processing with another program" like it says on their website.
You can open in it, a movie that you already have on your hdd, and edit it.
Sorry for the confusion, since i initially gave you the wrong program to your question.

I don't remember the case you're referring to Joseph. And I have no relevant article in my bookmarks. I would suspect it is more likely a corrupt download, as you mention.

BTW, I had to seek out that program Capture Pad when FRAPS wouldn't work at all for me. I know it doesn't work for Lacek either. I tried a couple of versions of it, and it just won't work. Capture pad is useful, but for me not ideal. It can be a pain actually. Or maybe I just don't have a fast enough processor to run it with a game!

Sparky, play around with it a bit. You can change the codec used for a more efficient recording. But watch it, sometimes when you first start the program for some odd reason, not all the codecs are available. Just run it a bit and after a while, they come back. :S
