Those really were the times. "Lara Croft is an adventure who simply built her fortune buy hunting and collecting old treasures". Meaning "Adventurer". Miss that bio. Too much.
Look how they have no "alternatives" on the magazine. It was just unique. So fun. And those tombs were so dangerous. Yes, good times. --- Now, just a quick question. That old "intro" for the game, why is it forbidden? And any word on the story behind it? Was the plot of the game any different as we know it? |

If you mean the early FMV with the boat, it is banned because the footage was not officially released, and most of the early footage is tagged with fansite url's, it cannot be shown here, which is a pity. There were at least 3 stories done for Tomb Raider before the Scion and Atlantean rulers one. All as far as we know were recylced for use in the later games, although the Nephilim story was only touched on in AOD. The early intro FMV is the one where Lara found the journal of an old explorer, which eventually lead to the recovery of the scion. It seems to start at the end of the story, where she already had the early scion though, or perhaps it was not an intro to the game at all, but the end.
Presumably someone somewhere asked this question of the team, since we have seen a screenshot of the early FMV, but it would likely be in one of the early playstation previews, or perhaps the Edge Magazine interview. |

Just a little crumb of information today, gleaned from the pages of GamePro #71 June 1995, in the preview of E3 1995 we get a mention in the U.S. Gold section who were at that point the owners of Core. The BC Racers game mentioned was Toby Gard's first game, he was the main graphic artist, or Chief Cave Painter.
