I'm on a different computer now and I can see the banding. Most of it appears as expected, but the bottom right part appears a bit off - it looks like the banding is sort of irregular. Perhaps this is caused entirely by the placement of the light source, as you can see it affects the faces of the room in an asymmetrical manner. Is this level made in TRLE/NGLE or in TE?

It's TRLE. I wonder why I never used to see it for? Ah well. Does it depend on the system?

The "Distortion" happens because of the Clipping. TR uses a primitive clipping method which produces an additional triangle when parts of a triangle become out of bounds.
TR's rendering is very imprecise. You can test this yourself by going in a 1 square wide corridor with contrasty lighting and running forwards. You'll notice that the Lighting of the triangle slightly changes when it gets out of bounds. Last edited by TR-Freak; 30-01-18 at 21:03. |

Yes, that's what it is! I noticed it a while ago. You can see the gradient move somewhat.

Probably already known, but I found that you can access the unused Valley Temple level in TR4 by placing the "joby1b.tr4" file in TRLE's data folder and altering the script to point to "joby1b.tr4 in a level block. Not much going on but thought it was interesting.
Apologies if this is the wrong place. |

Naah, it’s the right place. But yes, we know. Not much going on indeed, just a bunch of pillars standing around.
But it’s probably for the best that the level wasn’t finished and didn’t make it into the game, because that Joby fellow had a penchant for repeating himself, noticeable throughout all the Giza levels (which he was responsible for), and I don’t think I could have stomached another Mastabas. Right.
Yes, it did have a Mastabas feel to it but it looked more like a mix of that level and Sphinx Complex. |

Either as a player or a builder - what do you like more? The TRNG savegame panel or the classic savegame list?
