I don't think this is a fog. It comes from THIS website and most possibly it is just photoshopped to blend nicely with the site (which is white). The picture itself is from the final version or very late beta though, since you can see:
- Lara's final jeans outfit which was not present in early betas.
- The fence above Lara which wasn't present in the beta.
- The ladder which was a late addition. In the early beta Lara only had to jump onto the lowest roof (present in early alpha but gone in the beta).

I remember these from the old AOD investigations thread. It isn't part of AOD, one of the modellers who worked on AOD made it for their portfolio. Lara's model is just a scale reference.

Sorry for double post but I was thinking in the early location level flowchart (https://i.imgur.com/vjO5LhG.jpg) and...

Could this be the "Medical Institute" ????
We know that at first, Kurits' debut in the game supossed to be at Castle Kriegler, not in The Sanatorium.
So, the Medical Institute was maybe the early name for The Sanatorium level played with Lara?)

It might be. Remember there were deleted areas in the Sanitarium level and there is an elevator at the end that is supposed to take you to another area (or maybe its a way back?). Also there is a high security sanitarium level card that was never used in-game though its mentioned in the text files.

It's a shame that the pictures have all gone but luckily I have everything backed up and the link in the first page to download is still working.

True. Granted, I can see why the TLD team decided not to use the bulk of the information in the documents (unless that's changed since their statement). Back when I considered joining the team ages ago (early 2011 I believe) Elio sent me a basic package of info that--while having SOME similarities to the Murti notes--looked very independently researched (good job on that, by the way).
And no I don't have that package anymore.

Still, the Murti notes are a treasure trove of production notes.

The further we look into Murti Schofield’s documents of the early stages of Angel of Darkness, the less detailed the levels become. In fact, we shouldn’t even refer to them as levels in here but rather as areas and ideas that went on to become something else. We’re not just analyzing Paris and Prague but a whole other location that was scrapped entirely from the game – Germany. You’ve probably seen it mentioned elsewhere but in case you haven’t, it’s only where the big showdown was supposed to take place before they squeezed it into Prague.

There are a lot of inconsistencies in the writer’s documents, a lot of ideas that weren’t fully fleshed out but also a lot of juicy details and surprises as well! Unfortunately, you’re just going to have to let it all play out in your head but I trust that it won’t be that hard considering the amount of notes I have collected for you.

LOCATION – PARIS

Just as in the retail version, the game would’ve started with an introductory cutscene. While the notes do not mention anything about an argument between Lara and Von Croy and his ultimate demise, they speak of his apartment being in a absolute mess with symbols written all over the walls and his jackal headed stick on the floor. This cutscene would’ve incorporated scenes from Egypt as well as Lara receiving an amulet from a strange woman that is referred to as the Shaman (Putai). Lastly, the cutscene would’ve shown Lara being chased by the police in the streets and losing her backpack to their dogs.

1 - BACKSTREET COURTYARD

This zone is described as a rainy and dark training area where the Shaman and the Amulet icon would’ve been introduced to the player. Every time Lara attempted a new move/task she could’ve chosen to enter the training area to take advice from Putai. Maybe this means that Lara could’ve warped back to this level through the use of a screen prompt or something.

Eventually she would’ve found her way out of the courtyard and into an apartment building and up onto the rooftops all the while being chased by the police. We would hear that Lara was a murder suspect over the police shortwave. She would be unarmed for the entire area and the only thing she would have with her was a bloodstained fax with an address and a name on it. Finally, the notes speak of the possibility of several posters being seen throughout the city with the word Monstrum on them.

2 - CARVIER’S APARTMENT

This is the area where we meet Margot Carvier, a friend of Von Croy. Much of their conversation remains the same. Lara tells her that Werner is dead. Carvier is unsure of her because of the reports of Monstrum killings. Lara can’t remember what happened at Von Croy’s apartment as this point. Margot mentions that the archaeologist was afraid because of a painting he was tracking down for a client of his called Eckhardt. He also left her his field notebook. Lara must talk her into handing it over. However, the notes do not mention Von Croy’s friend calling the police on her.

3 - DESERTED RAILWAY SIDING

It says in the documents that Lara would read through Werner’s notebook in a derelict railway carriage, probably the same one where she wakes up in the retail version of Parisian Ghetto. The book contains a lot of clues such as the name of the client who Von Croy was working for, the possible location of a painting, the name of a Parisian gang boss that Werner got a gun and equipment from, the location of another painting in Prague and some of his research about archaic symbols. This, of course, answers why Lara is suddenly looking for Louis Bouchard.

4 - STREETS

Lara would ask around for Bouchard the same way she does in the retail version. The notes say she could’ve spoken to a selection of characters. Some of them would be very unfriendly while others would provide small clues to Bouchard’s whereabouts. Eventually she would find out that Louis is a gang boss that used to run a club called Le Serpent Rouge but ever since the police shut it down he went into hiding. He then started a new secret club called Le Mur (translation = the wall). In the retail version, it’s simply a hideout. There is no mention of Janice, the hobo or the drug dealer.

When exploring the city streets Lara would’ve been able to visit certain shops to make exchanges. She could enter a café where she would’ve found Kurtis reading a newspaper and a bartender with a reputation for bad deals. Other premises include a pawn shop, an apothecary (a.k.a. Willotree’s Herbalist), a news kiosk, a general store and an antique shop. Lara could buy healing items if she was running low. If she came across the Old Church she would find a gym on the ground floor where she could make a beat with the trainer. To find Louis’s new club she would have to choose from three options.

OPTION 1: Meet with Pierre, the bartender. He would propose an exchange. If Lara retrieved an item he left behind in Le Serpent Rouge he would give her a contact (his ex-girlfriend) for Bouchard’s new club. Lara would meet with her at her apartment and she would tell her how to reach Le Mur from there. After climbing around the apartment building she would reach the graveyard.

OPTION 2: Meet with Bernard, the ex-janitor. He would propose a deal. A password for the doorman in exchange for an item he left at the old club. If you’re wondering why the item is the same as Pierre, the documents might provide a clue. Pierre is the janitor’s son. Yeah...

OPTION 3: Use the pawnbroker’s services, Daniel Rennes, to raise cash. You would have to pawn the items you found to get enough cash to bribe the doorman. Unfortunately money isn’t enough in the retail version, you also need the box.

5 – LE MUR

The details in the notes make this place sound nothing like a club. Maybe it was a different kind of club given the gymnasium set upstairs, however the description matches that of the retail version. Lara would come across Arnauld, one of Bouchard’s henchmen lying down in a bed. He is in pain. His screams would’ve called for the attention of a bodyguard who escorts Lara into the basement to meet his boss.

Much like in the retail version Lara would’ve had to use caution when speaking to Bouchard otherwise he would’ve shot her on the spot. Yup, conversation options were there from the very beginning. Louis would’ve talked about his closed down operations, the killings involving his men and how he helped Von Croy a while ago. He would’ve told her to find Daniel Rennes who uses the pawnbrokers as a front and that he would give her anything she needed such as maps and stealth equipment.

6 – THE PAWNBROKERS

Lara would’ve found Daniel murdered Monstrum style. She would’ve helped herself to all the useful gear lying around such as medical supplies, tools, a tazer, a tranquilizer gun, darts and combat clothes. Upon searching the pawnbroker’s body she would’ve discovered a combination code for a safe. Inside the safe she would’ve found a backpack with Von Croy’s name on it. Inside the backpack were the Louvre maps and essential items such as explosives and a torch.

Upon lifting the backpack she would’ve triggered an alarm for a booby trap, forcing her to make a quick exit through a trapdoor. She would’ve jumped into a river barge moving towards the Louvre to escape the explosion. Kurtis would be watching her from afar. Inside the barge we would’ve seen her combine the maps of the city sewage system with the Louvre’s dig site and security’s layout to find a way inside.

7 – THE LOUVRE – STORM TUNNELS

We would’ve seen her enter the Louvre through a storm tunnel from the river. At this point, the writer wanted us to feel like we were being watched by a mysterious figure (Kurtis). Lara would’ve placed GPS’s throughout the tunnel in case she needed to backtrack (these would’ve also been used as save locations). Lara would’ve had to go up against the water flow, rats and traverse slippery ledges. In a specific room she would’ve had to choose between two places to make the explosion. One of those would’ve caused an oil slick on the water to ignite while the other would’ve blown up everything, most likely killing her in process. The explosion would’ve created a gap in the wall that she would’ve used to get inside the museum.

8 – LOUVRE – MODERN SECTION

Lara would’ve had to make her way through the museum in order to reach the excavation site. The writer described this section as a stealth area with guards and alarms. There would be no police. If the player set off any alarm, the guards would’ve locked themselves away in their control room and create hindrances by closing automatic doors and corridor shutters. Lara could only knock the guards unconscious seeing as she wouldn’t be carrying any lethal weapons at this point. Can you imagine that?

Before she proceeded to the dig site, she would’ve had to find Carvier’s office. Her computer would’ve contained a lot of information such as Von Croy borrowing the Obscura Engravings which she would obviously need and why she goes there in the first place. It would contain details on an art dealer from Prague called Mathias Vasiley who knows the location of another painting and some links to real websites for the player to get some background history. Finally she would’ve also found a security pass for the archaeological dig, located in the lower levels of the building. To get there she would’ve had to go through vents and the roof.

9 - OLD LOUVRE AREA

Lara would’ve come across archaeological equipment left by the workers in this area. Just like in the retail version, there was a fenced off section that protected a mosaic with a contraption built into the wall. It contains symbols that must be lined up in a pattern in order to open the Buttress. Only Von Croy’s notebook clues and the geothermal equipment could help her find the missing symbols she needed to get inside.

Once inside the buttress, she would’ve had to climb all the way down, jumping across stone slabs set in the walls. At the very bottom she would enter the chamber of 12 calendar doors. These are of course the very own descriptions for Tomb of Ancients and Hall of Seasons which by the way do not appear to be separate zones/levels. According to the notes this chamber has paintings linked to the 12 elements and mosaic circles on the floor that must be aligned correctly according to elements and seasons (I’m positively sure the 12 elements are the 12 zodiac symbols placed around the circle in the retail version) If aligned correctly, the puzzle would’ve allowed access to 4 additional chambers connected to water, fire, air and earth.

Each chamber would’ve started a steam furnace and a column would lift up from the floor giving Lara access to a room above the chamber, Brother Obscura’s room – an ossuary. This room would’ve contained 12 paintings clutched to the chests of skeletal statues but only one of them would be the real deal. Brother Obscura’s ghost would awaken to attack Lara. Much like in the retail version, there really was no way to defeat him. We would have to take the painting and get out as quickly as possible but the real painting could only be reveal through the ghost, something that only worked on paper I’m afraid. Removing the painting would’ve set off a trap that would cause the room and the tunnels below to flood forcing Lara to swim back the way she came. This time she would exit into a different part of the museum.

10 – MODERN SECTION AGAIN

The police would’ve arrived in this level, it doesn’t depend on how good or bad Lara avoided the alarms in her first visit to the museum. There is no mention of Gunderson and his private army. If she got caught here, she would be taken to a store room to be confined there. She could escape using something inside. She could’ve also used an X-Ray facility in the lab-restoration room to discover a hidden metallic symbol within the painting.

In order to clear out an escape route she would have to make use of the Guard’s control room. She would run into the mysterious figure that’s been following her – Kurtis. Just like in the retail version, he would hold her a gun to her head and steal her painting. She would chase him down the hallways and the police would chase everybody. The writer wanted this to be quite the move scene with stuff getting broken as they escape the museum.

Outside the museum Lara would find Kurtis out cold on the ground. She would get knocked out too. A figure dressed in a guard’s uniform (Karel) would walk away with a painting in his hands, then he would walk behind a pillar and emerge as one of Bouchard’s henchmen.

Bouchard would wake her up and Lara would find that Kurtis was gone. She would tell him that she needs to get to Von Croy’s apartment and he would offer to take her there. When asked what he was doing there he would’ve told her that he had been monitoring Louvre’s security and police shortwave and came to help her out. Before getting inside the car, she would’ve pocketed a Crystal Shard that Kurtis had dropped.

11 - VON CROY’S APARTMENT

Bouchard would’ve told her about a Monstrum killing in Prague. He would’ve waited outside while Lara goes to investigate the apartment. Secretly, he had the painting hidden in his car boot passed on to him by a figure posing as one of his men (Karel). Louis would’ve made a call to the Cabal to order a clean-up operation and have Lara killed now that he had collected the painting. The writer makes it seem as though Bouchard only helped Lara to get his hands on the painting. He says that Bouchard had some sort of deal offered by a member of the Cabal.

Inside the apartment Lara would’ve searched for the Obscura Engravings that Werner borrowed from Mathias Vasiley. The place would still be in a mess. She would find Von Croy’s laptop, it would contain information about the Nephilim. She would’ve found faxes between Werner and Carvier and faxes between Werner and Vasiley. Finally she would’ve picked up Von Croy’s walking stick and found the engravings hidden inside. One of the symbols on the engravings would’ve triggered a flashback of events between Lara and Werner. In the retail version this only happened when Lara looked in the mirror.

The events shown in this flashback sequence would’ve been far more detailed than the first cutscene of the game. It would’ve shown Werner and Lara arguing. Lara would have a fax on her hand, Werner would be gesticulating with a gun all freaked out. There would be gunshots and Werner would be seen clicking on an empty gun. Then the gun would’ve fallen and spun under a piece of furniture. Finally Lara would’ve seen the face of someone standing behind her in a mirror. This person would’ve hit her from behind and it would all fade to black.

The flashback sequence would’ve been interrupted by the Cabal’s hitman breaking in downstairs. She would have to find Werner’s gun quickly because her tranquilizer gun would be out of darts. This is the first mention of a lethal gun in the game so far. Lara and the hitman would try to kill each other around the apartment floors. She would’ve eventually killed him. His cell phone would go off and Lara would pick it up. Much like in the retail version, it would be Bouchard on the other side of line asking if the target had been...removed. Lara would’ve stomped over the cell phone, taken the hitman’s luger and exit through the back window or a fire escape. Her next stop would be Prague.

LOCATION – PRAGUE

Although the number of areas in Prague isn’t as great as that of Paris, there are a number of differences that might surprise you. Before the showdown was moved to Prague, the plot didn’t seem quite as lacking and the pace wasn’t quite as rushed.

1 – CZECH BORDER

The documents mention that Lara gets off a train at the Prague Central Station. Another possibility was that she gets a lift from a lorry driver. The final decision hadn’t been made yet. In the retail version, Lara uses the hitman’s car to get to Prague. This part reads like a cutscene rather than an actual level.

2 – PRAGUE MURDER SCENE

Lara would’ve turned up at Vasiley’s premises. His shop would be surrounded by police crime scene tapes. She would break in through the back and stepped on a patch of blood on the floor. The whole place would be in a mess, symbols written on the walls and blood everywhere. Vasiley had been murdered. There is no mention of Luddick.

Inside the shop she would’ve found Bouchard. She would’ve taken his gun and tied him up to a chair in order to grill him. Apparently he got involved with the Cabal. He knows that Vasiley’s corpse and all the murder evidence was taken to the Strahov. The terrified expression on his face is uncharacteristic of him. Lara would’ve asked him about the painting. He would’ve told her that it’s no longer inside the shop and that it was taken to the vault of trophies by Boaz. Eckhardt already has 4 paintings but she’s keeping the last one from him.

Lara would search for the painting inside the shop just to be sure he wasn’t lying. She would’ve found ammo, medical supplies, all kinds of Russian Mafia stuff and a lot of information on the art dealer’s computer such as communications between Von Croy and him and background history on the Nephilim race. In a remote room she would come across Bouchard’s jacket, all covered in blood with his wallet and ID in its pockets. She would go back to where she left him only to find him gone. She would head for the Strahov afterwards to find the vault.

3 – THE STRAHOV

Lara would have to evade guards inside the Strahov, they were everywhere like a fortress. Part of it was like psychiatric wards. I’m not sure if the other part is like a loading bay because the notes do not mention it. Underneath the upper wards she would’ve found subterranean levels with medical experimentation cells (I’m sure he means floors rather than actual gameplay levels). This is Kristina Boaz’s territory (Lara in a Kurtis’ level). Lara would come across all the crime scene evidence and Vasiley’s corpse. He had become one of Boaz vivisection experiments by the time she arrived. She would find a map of the Strahov showing the location of the Vault and a high security holding zone.

Lara would’ve interfered with the security system in order to clear a path to the vault. This would cause the power to be cut off at certain areas, such as the High Security Holding Zone. As a consequence the Proto Nephilim would be set free to run amock in the labyrinth. Fortunately for Lara, she wouldn’t have run into it. That was a mission for Kurtis.

Lara would come across some members of the Cabal (Eckhardt, Boaz, Karel, Gunderson and Rouzic). Gunderson would be directing his security team to deal with the Proto. Lara would get a flashback in which she would’ve recognized Eckhardt as Von Croy’s murderer. Eckhardt would be showing off his alchemic abilities to Boaz by using his glove on some poor victim (not Luddick). He would’ve grilled Boaz about the last painting and the whereabouts of Bouchard. Also, he would’ve commanded her to deal with the Proto herself, claiming she should’ve taken care of it long ago. Lara would’ve continued on her route to the vault.

4 – STRAHOV BOTANICAL AREA

The botanical area stands in her way to the vault. It’s a place that’s full of mutants, botanical experiments and decontamination chambers. This is Grant Muller’s territory. Lara would’ve had to fight and kill a lot of the failed experiments in order to reach the far side part of the botanical area. After entering a chamber, Kurtis would appear to lock her inside. They would communicate through the intercom. She would’ve accused him of stealing her painting and he’d say he’d lost it. He would’ve told her that he has to fix the problem that she created by messing with the security system. Apparently, the Proto is blocking his route to the vault. Lara shows him the shard to make sure he will come back for her.

5 – PLAY AS KURTIS

Kurtis would make his way to the labyrinth and he would soon find the Proto by following the screams of the guards. Kurtis would’ve had to use his powers to fight or evade the guards that are being hunted by the Nehilim. Leaving the Proto on the loose was not an option. He would’ve have to kill it by using his powers and the shard he had in his possession. After killing the Proto he would head back to the Botanical Area.

Lara had calmed down since their last encounter. She had realized the shard was import so she was not about to hand it over easily. They would’ve agreed to a truce. If he lets her out of the chamber, she’d give him his shard back. He would’ve given her a brief background to his involvement with Eckhardt and his dad being the Lax Veritatis killed by the black alchemist. He wants revenge. Kurtis has inherited 2 of the 3 shards that were used to keep Eckhardt captive in the past. He needs the last shard and to find it he needs something from the vault. They agree to team up to find the vault. There is no mention of Aquatic Research Area.

6 – THE VAULT OF TROPHIES & ANCIENT ALCHEMIST LAB COMBINED

Given the description of this level, it’s safe to assume that it’s a co-op level. Lara and Kurtis would’ve sneaked their way through Strahov’s tunnels. Outside the vault they would’ve fought Luther Rouzic but he would’ve ran off before they could kill him. They would’ve found a secret way into the vault/lab. Unlike the retail version, the vault belonged to Eckhardt. Apparently he never visited it which is why Boaz hid the painting there.
The vault was full of skulls from the Cabal’s enemies, including Kurtis’ father. Kurtis would’ve found the symbols he needed to find the correct Lux Veritatis Trancing Room at Castle Kriegler, considering there were many rooms. He needed to go back to the castle to use the trancing room to discover where the third shard was left in 1945 when Eckhardt escaped. The symbols were tattooed on his father’s corpse displayed in a big jam jar.

The vault contained Eckhardt’s glove prototypes, a preserved Nephilim, alchemic experiments, a 3D schematic of the final ritual chamber with its channels, water system and details of chemicals and elements being used. It had other things such as the alchemist’s journal with notes on meetings with the Nephilim, the betrayal of the five alchemists of the early Cabal in the 1400’s, some history on how Eckhardt created the 5 Obscura paintings in the 1440’s.

The vault also contained the painting that Boaz hid from Eckhardt. It would’ve been well hidden of course and to acquire it she needed to operate a system of levers and locks. There were 10 duplicate paintings and only one was the real deal. Kurtis would’ve used his shard to find the authentic painting. Somehow it made the metallic symbol glow.

There was supposed to be a brief cutscene here voiced by Kurtis telling us about the events of 1945. It would’ve shown how Eckhardt escaped at the end of WWII from a castle prison guarded by a single Lux Veritatis Guardian, Kurtis’ grandfather. It would’ve shown Castle Kriegler being bombed by Allied aircraft and Eckhardt breaking free. It was time to visit Castle Kriegler. The lost domain level is not mentioned anywhere in Prague.

There was supposed to be one last cutscene in Prague of a meeting that is unseen by Lara and Kurtis. In some other part of the Strahov Boaz would be talking to Karel. The painting had been stolen. Eckhardt could never find out about it. The cutscene would’ve cut to the Great Hall. Rouzic would be whispering something to Eckhardt as the rest of the Cabal members reunite. The alchemist would’ve told the Cabal that the plans for their final move to the underground base in Castle Kriegler were almost complete. Eckhardt would’ve turned on Boaz. Rouzic had told him what Boaz had done. He would’ve denounced her as unworthy and killed her in front of everyone.

LOCATION – GERMANY

This location was removed during the early stages of development of the game. According to the descriptions in the notes, it would’ve had the most Tomb Raider-ish levels of the game. There is also a balance between Kurtis levels and Lara levels.

1 – GERMAN-CZECH BORDER – MOUNTAIN COUNTRY

Lara and Kurtis would’ve arrived at the German-Czech border on his motorbike. Kurtis would’ve distracted the guards while Lara would head for the castle through a forest. This part reads like a cutscene rather than an actual level.

2 – LARA ARRIVES AT THE CASTLE

Lara would’ve headed into a misty gorge where she would’ve fought bears and wolves. She would have to jump a river and swim in potholing pools. Next she would’ve had to make her way around a waterfall, climb into the castle ruins and make her way down into the tunnels. The writer makes some notes about battling scary illusions created by Rouzic. It’s unclear if he’s talking about actual enemies or something out of the Twilight Zone but it does say they get more powerful as she approaches the castle.

3 – CASTLE KRIEGLER

Lara would’ve had to deal with a few Cabal guards inside. She would run into Eckhardt. He was already there along with Rouzic waiting in the mid levels underneath the castle. Rouzic would’ve used one of his mind tricks to trap Lara so that he could take her painting and hand it over to Eckhardt. He would’ve asked her about Kurtis.

4 – PLAY AS KURTIS

The game would switch over to Kurtis, where he would be banged up inside a guard’s shed. He would have to bust out of there and make his way to the castle. He would take a different route than Lara. The write doesn’t mention his bike so no vehicle levels were planned. Kurtis would use a secret tunnel that was used by his grandfather in 1945 to escape the castle. This tunnel would take him directly to the mid levels of the castle. He would have to use the symbols he found in Prague to find the correct Trance Chamber for there were 10 in total.

5 – THE TRANCE

The chamber would reveal us the final hours at Castle Kriegler in 1945 and we would conclude that the story is not as Kurtis had been told. We would see his grandfather taking 2 of the shards and escaping through the secret tunnel while the allied forces bombed the castle. Eckhardt had escaped with the help of the Cabal and he would have taken the 3rd shard with him. Eckhardt was in the possession of the shard the entire time.

Kurtis would come out of his trance to find Eckhardt standing over him triumphant. He had stolen Kurtis’ shard during the trance and now he had everything he needed. There would be a big running fight through the catacombs. We would face monsters, illusions and explosions. Some insults would be thrown between Kurtis and Eckhardt along the way. It’s unclear who’s running after who but my bet is that Eckhardt would be the one running away with all the artifacts.

Kurtis knows that Lara is still inside the castle somewhere and luckily comes across the trap she’s in. Instead of going after Eckhardt, he would mess with a mechanism that would help Lara escape the trap. At the same time he must draw the enemies away from Lara to give her time to escape. In the end, he gets captured and left barely alive. Eckhardt imprisons him in the same prison he escaped from in 1945.

6 – ECKHARDT TRIUMPHANT

Eckhardt would run with all the paintings while Rouzic carried the shards for him. They would make use of a deep shaft transit system that would take them to the lower subterranean levels of the castle. This system would become sealed off afterwards. Before using the transit system Eckhardt would release a golem monster to kill Lara.

7 – PLAY AS LARA – ESCAPE

Lara would escape her prison and be chased by the golem. She would come across proof that would make her think that Kurtis had been murdered (his Chirugai weapon perhaps?). Lara would have to battle the golem and several guards. This is almost like the Boaz Returns level, only it isn’t Boaz. Lara would have to make use of an unexploded Allied bomb left in the castle to kill the Golem. The bomb would explode and make a gaping hole in the transit system shaft. The notes say the Golem would fall through this hole.

8 – THE LOWER REALMS

Lara would climb down to the first level of the transit system. This area would be full of alchemy high tech hybrid laboratories with vaults of human experiments in vats and Nephilim architecture. Eckhardt had been dismantling Nephilim temple innards and bringing them to his own subterranean fortress since 1945. Lara would find out the remaining history of the Nephilim by looking at the stone engravings and images all around her.

9 – JOACHIM KAREL

Karel would appear out of nowhere and approach Lara to say he needed her help to stop Eckhardt. Since he had witnessed the way he had killed Boaz, Karel feared for his own life. Of course this was all a lie. To gain her trust, he would show her the faces he had been using to help her get here. Lara would be unsure of him because she thought it could be a trick from Rouzic. Eckhardt’s plan is a ritual to transform himself into a more evolved being, breeding the Nephilim race again by interbreeding with humans. The rest of the Cabal thinks Eckhardt will give them immortality. Finally he would tell Lara how to sabotage the ritual.

10 – ECKHARDT’S UNDERGROUND ALCHEMY BASE

Eckhardt’s base would be a huge labyrinth with many floors. The paintings would be incorporated in a massive rotating mosaic circuit set on the floor. Each ring would rotate independently. Underneath the circuit there would be a giant coolant-birthing amniotic pool. In order to sabotage Eckhardt’s ritual she would have to swim underwater and use impure elements into Eckhardt’s purified elements or by shifting the circuits around. The purified elements were present in the retail version. Of course, there would be extensive engineering works underwater and extensions of the transit system. She would need underwater equipment such as a scuba diving kit.

11 – THE FINAL RITUAL

Eckhardt and the rest of the Cabal would reunite in his base. Everything would be ready for the transformation. The shards would be locked away in a room guarded by one of Eckhardt’s mutant creatures. Everything would go wrong because Lara had already messed with the circuit by the time they started the ritual. Eckhardt would transform into a grotesque form and collapse. Karel would appear briefly in his Nephilim form while the others would disintegrate. Lara would enter the ritual chamber to find Eckhardt crawling into another chamber with his glove and disappearing in the distance.

12 – KAREL IS DYING

Karel’s form would shift between his human and his Nephilim form. He would tell Lara to stop Eckhardt by using the shards. Karel would die/dissolve in light. Lara would have to find the chamber guarded by the mutant protecting the shards. A big fight would take place there. After acquiring the shards she would follow Eckhardt’s trail into the last chamber.

13 – THE LAST BATTLE

Eckhardt would have found refuge in the final chamber on his triangular throne between two massive pillars. He had one last weapon he can use. His boosted mental skills could create dangerous realities from Lara’s past that he would use to kill her. The writer was inspired by Nightmare on Elm Street. The 3 realities were:
1 – The Himalayan plane crash (when she was young)
2 – The dinosaurs in Peru
3 – Having to escape death in the pyramid in Egypt

14 – LARA TRIUMPHANT

Lara would defeat Eckhardt in each of the three realities by stabbing him with all the shards. Each time she stabbed him that reality would shut down and she would briefly return to the real world in the throne room to see Eckhardt with a shard slammed into him. After all the three realities, Eckhardt would be trapped, unable to move, unable to die or be killed. He could still speak. He would tell her that Kurtis isn’t dead and that he didn’t kill Von Croy. His glove would fall to the floor. Lara would take the glove and use it to alchemically invert his body’s elements. He would erupt into shards of primary elements and die.

In conclusion
- The Amulet and Putai would be introduced in Paris
- Scrapped shops: antique shop, general store and news kiosk
- Bouchard's hideout was a club named Le Mur
- We could use GPS to save the game
- There was poice in Galleries Under Siege
- Lara could get locked up Galleries Under Siege
- We would use the X-Ray machine to scan the painting
- The first lethal weapon would be collected in Von Croy's Apartment
- Luddick does not exist in this version
- Lara would visit the Sanitarium
- Boss battle: Rouzic
- Muller would not be eaten by the Golem
- Kurtis needed to get inside the vault as well
- Castle Kriegler was the chosen location for the showdown
This is almost like the closure I finally needed for this game

Oh no.
I just realised the photobucket policy change completely ruined the thread. So much hardwork is gone.
