Goddamn, I wish those enemies were still in the game. Who knows though?! We've not seen most of this game, so maybe they're in there...somewhere!

That's your opinion. Not theirs.

My theory is that they decided to take away all the supernatural, because the second game may focus on lara's first encounter with the supernatural

tbh we've barely anything of the game, barely any tombs etc. You don't know those elements won't appear later.

Making tomb raider 100% no supernatural stuff would limit future games, CD aren't stupid enough to put those kind of limitations on themselves so early into the rebooted franchises.

Every TR had supernatural elements, I doubt that's going to change.

Well, this has been officially discharged. They have said there's even a video showing Lara riding a shore, being chased by monsters and stuff, but this is just an early concept that changed long ago. This happens with every game, the problem with this is that it got leaked.

I think the horse and the child and the monsters and the open world would have been reeeeeeally risky, and CD just isn't ambitious enough to pull it off.

It wasn't generic enough.

yeah I was thinking that too. But I'm sure there's something mystical going on with the island, to be fair you can't just have brutal cult-like scavengers without some mystical tie-in, so I'm anticipating something supernatural already.
Since this is Lara's story of how she came to be, then supernatural must've been in the mix to equip her if this is her full-blown origin story.

But I'm ready for more mystical stuff for the sequel, and to carry on a darker tone to help differentiate from Uncharted to stop ignorant people from flaming the franchise for "copying uncharted" or being a "rip-off". Like, we know there're cinematic elements to it that Uncharted is famous for, but to me that's it. The franchise has just stepped up to fully compete with it's competitors.
