Tomb Raider: Wrath Of Lamia
Welcome to my new thread for my TRLE! I hope to showcase my new levelset here and share with you all progress and upcoming features, recently the first level has been completed and I am confident enough to show some pictures and progress for this! *Outfit is made together from different pieces of Horus Goddess' and PoYus outfits. Edits by me. *In game enemy meshes in top right, made by Horus Goddess Didn't you have a previous thread about this? Yes, the Pendant Of Lamia, unfortunately as the storyline progressed and the gameplay became a reality, it was hard to implement an artifact in the already detailed story and kidnappings, I felt uncomfortable delivering something that would have little to no mention in game, yet would need to make me change the full story. The original storyline was to have Lamias magic pendant allow her to teleport between the underworld and overworld, but this would leave Lara to be a problem in terms of following her and the fact Lamia already posesses magic powers, so the game became solely based on Lamia instead of an artifact, this helped me plan everything better. I simply decided that I was not happy with how the building of the previous run of this went, so I scrapped everything and started from scratch to build up again, 8 months later the first level has been fully completed to a satisfaction that I can deem worthy of being put into the TRLE world and levelset. My knowledge of scripting and building new objects has only grown and I am confident enough to deliver an experience that is both memorable and unique. Screenshots: *WIP is still happening, even though the first level is practically finished, an outside view can spot flaws and things I have missed, therefore subject to change when necessary. -Fully working melee as seen in AoD -In game cutscenes, dropouts and transitions to aid storytelling -Fully working subtitle system for conversations -New outfit, sound effects, textures and objects for better gameplay -Clever and careful scripting to bring new in game features -Expanded healing system, healing items now range for 2 to upto 7 -Limited ammo, Lara must scavenge crypts for old weapons and ammo -Realistic tomb standards, no more medipacks or modern weapon clips in old tombs meaning careful resource conservation -Magic system, ranging from short invincibility to being able to remove flames from Lara permenantly. -Attention to detail, I would like to have all items and objects functioning properly in inventory and real world, same goes to statics. -A gripping storyline that will have Lara going from completely unarmed to fighting for her life. -Wear and tear on clothes, although this will not happen during gameplay in real time, all outfits have been created to show the transition from no backpack or anything to cuts, scars and shedding clothes. -Fun with meshes, meaning gameplay such as Lara now visually showing holding her breath underwater and others to come. -Sprite system to show walking status, rain on screen etc. -MORE TO COME, stay tuned! Stonehawk Manor 95% completed- General polishing, proofreading, making last minute changes and checking all triggers work. Needing voice actors for NPC conversations (3 female needed) The Crypt 10% completed-Made progress to entrance and some various rooms leading upto underground crypts, set up healing system and melee working for 80% of the enemies Depths 5% completed-Made test rooms to build magic system and planned resource system, made some progress with textures and have included a few demonic enemies and objects to test with. The Lair 0% completed-Not yet started. |

Encourages me to build more! I wouldn't have much to put in a gameplay video also, I could do some special effect showoffs if you like? Quote:

Been working a little more on the Crypt but I'm absolutely terrible at lighting! Those things in the floor are meant to be the pipes |

Hum... sunbulb can be always useful on rooms, you should try them if you didn't
Otherwise, you have to add some bulbs or change some of them |

You aren't that bad You actually seem to be one of the few level builders who do adjust their static objects' lighting to the lighting of the room
I like how your going for a natural approach, where the light is only coming from actual sources of light. However, judging by the screenshots, some more contrast could be good - maybe try making the rooms overall ambient light even darker than it is now and be a bit bolder with your lightbulbs by making them brighter and bigger (extend their reach?). |
