What's the maximum number of vertices?
I would like to know the maximum number of vertices for both a static and a movable in the original, un-patched TRLE.
Thank you. |

Is that the number of vertices for a mesh in a movable object?

Yes, it is the "per mesh vertice limit".
So even in the original TRLE a complete object can have more than 255 vertices when it is made up of several individual meshes. A good example is the large truck from TR4. As a complete object is has more than 255 vertices, but its individual meshes/parts each have less vertices. |

Hmm. Somehow it doesn't get through to my animating. I made a rope-ladder, which had about 325 vertices in total. With the animating in one mesh I was forced to TREP the game to keep it running.
To see, if I could do without the patch, I divided the rope-ladder into three parts: the ropes and two sets of steps of four steps each. Each of those three parts was made into one mesh and connected into an animating. When I tried to use the unpatched exe, the game crashed, while it ran smoothly when I used the patched exe. |

I'll fight on with my ladder. But is the maximum number of vertices for a static also 255?

Yes, because a static is only one mesh and the limit is "per mesh".
Quote:
The object needs to be split into several seperate meshes, then the meshtree of the object needs to be correctly made so it can be animated properly. |

Hi
As we have NGLE and so on, I wanted to know if 255 was still the maximum of authorized vertices ? Thank you |

It has increased, I don't remember the exact limit, but it's far beyond 255 now.
