So im playing FF12 Zodiac Age and I haveto say I'm absolutely loving it.
I played the original FF12 on the PS2 but it was around the period where I left school and went to university; so I only dipped in from time to time and overall wasn't too engrossed. However, replaying it now I have fallen in love. The battle system, the story, the lore, the espers... it's an amazing game. Despite it being a PS2 game at heart I actually feel I've enjoyed it much more than FF15. A modern spin on an RPG yet one that still maintains a lot of the traditional RPG elements. It's a shame so many game series have been watered down to cater to the masses. Long live FF12 In terms of story, I'm just about to head to the final battle.... I have all espers bar three of them. Figure i'll complete it first then go round and clean up espers/hunts etc. Questions though: 1) Where do you get the Ribbon 2) Where is the elite hunt club on Phon Coast (Zodiac Spear, Genji armour etc) WOOO ! |

FFXV Pocket edition has been announced. It's the same game, but in SD.

Ardyn's story won the poll that happened a while back, but it won't be dlc.

Final Fantasy IX is available for PS4 And it has, from what I've read, the hardest trophies in the series Really...1000 rope jumps?

Why do they constantly ignore 8? It's easily the best in the series and it never gets the love it deserves!

I love VIII (and I hope it eventually gets the VII and IX treatment) and Squall is my favourite classic protagonist, but VII and IX gather general approval without much effort. |

I wish VIII gets remade from the ground up. It's easily the best game for me. I'm not really a fan of the series because X just killed it for me, but no game will ever take place of VIII in my heart. So many fond memories of my childhood.

I love FF9 and I was so excited when I heard this was available on PS4...
HOWEVER, once it installed I was a little disappointed... Huge grey bars either side of the screen. I wish there was a way to turn them to plain Black rather than the distracting smokey grey effect. Butchered GIGANTIC battle menu. I appreciate this is a port of the recent iOS version, but we do not need huge touch screen size button prompts. Surely it wouldn't take much time to patch in the classic battle menu (as was the case with FF7 on PS4). Load times; FF9 had pretty long battle load times/transitions. I was hoping these had been reduced somewhat but that doesn't seem to be the case. Character Name Screen: For some reason this takes us out of the main game interface and gives us the PS4 system keyboard? What was wrong with the original character naming system? Hmmmm... I'll stick at it. But I can't help feeling a little niggled by this. I don't think the option for black bars, a smaller classic battle menu and improved load times are too much to ask.... |
