Default In eigener Sache -- My opinion

@Everybody:

In my opinion a modder are selfish and self-serving, if he/she not want to use the new Generic format.
I consider the new format as useful and helpful.

The new format allows features which are impossible with the old generic format.
The new format allows beginners to create MOD's s for XNALara without using Blender. Without experience about render groups ...

Anyone who not want to produce models using the new format is selfish because:
  • He emphasizes the wide distribution of its MOD's because XPS, in opposite to the official release, support Dusan's format, the old format and the new Generic format.
  • It prevents the beginners an easy start in modding.

I'm agree with Dusan that there can be only one official XNALara. This can be downloaded here http://www.tombraiderforums.com/show...01&postcount=1. At this point I link also on my DeviantArt page: http://xnaaral.deviantart.com/
Whoever is not willing to convince Dusan, that the new format offers benefits the one who hinders progress. The goal must be that Dusan add my extension to the official XNALara version.

The new Generic format was required by experienced modders, for example by mariokart64n.
It is used by XNALara-modders with great experience, for example by AtlantiB.
Modder without prior knowledge of MOD's use XPS to create - without having to install Blender. For example tombraider4ever used only XPS to create combinations with different skeletons.

Anyone who has even tried to combine a poseable models with a other poseable hair knows the problems. With XPS, this can make a beginners: http://tombraider4ever.deviantart.com/gallery

Conclusion:
Whoever is not willing to help others and rejects the new format, which also gets no future support or help by myself.

In eigener Sache.

I have started on a mod with XPS, which is my first, and how do I make the original hair an optional item? Then which bone do I add the extra hair to? I know tombraider4ever knows so if she could tell me I would be happy Or if you, XNAaraL would help me and tell me how to do it I would be super happy

Download the latest XNALara XPS version http://*************************/t170-x...latest-version
Read this step by step tutorial: Add a different character's weapon to another character

More example:
How to add a static or poseable hair to a poseabble character?
Make a combination with to different sceleton -- Without Blender
How to add a static or poseable hair to a poseabble character?

Which bone do I add the extra hair to?
How do I make the original hair an optional item?
You can wait some hours. I release a new XPS version 10.3.1 which make this easy -- using a single menu item

If you use for example this model http://o0crofty0o.deviantart.com/art...F12969478&qo=5
then check the texture images from this MOD. If you take a look to the images, then you found something like:
hair_DM.tga -- The diffuse texture
hair_NM.tga -- The Bumb map texture.

Open Generic_Item.mesh.ascii with notepad and search for "hair_DM.tga". You found:
Code:
6_Model001Material001_0.1_0_0_Alice_root hips
1 # uv layers
2 # textures
d:\#XNALara\data\#AliceWater\hair_DM.tga
0 # uv layer index
d:\#XNALara\data\#AliceWater\hair_NM.tga
0 # uv layer index
1657 # vertices
The line above "# uv layers" is the mesh name.
Change this line by adding the '-' sign.
6_-Alice hair.Model001Material001_0.1_0_0_Alice_root hips

Save the Generic_Item.mesh.ascii file.
Download the converter GeMeshAsciiToBinV2 and ModPublisherV2 version 2 http://www.multiupload.com/42ZOXTH2JZ
Move the Generic_Item.mesh.ascii file over GeMeshAsciiToBinV2 and the result file Generic_Item.m over ModPublisherV2
Load the file with XNALara XPS 10 http://*************************/t158-x...ing-studio-103 and: TaTa
The Sign - means this mesh part is invisible by default.
Alice hair means this is the name of the menu item displayed as "Optional Item"
. is the field separator
Model001Material001 is the original mesh part name

ave the Generic_Item.mesh.ascii file.

This depends on:
Which bone has your armature as root bone ? What is the name? Which mesh part move this bone ?

Exist in the WWW a DOWNLOAD LINK ?

The answer to your question:
Blender-->Edit mode-->Spacebar-->Add-->bone
Choose parent bone

or
Blender-->Edit mode-->X

Now I have another problem, I was trying to fill a request made by NRO. and I encountered this problem with the coat on the model:
[IMG]http://i52.************/2qwioon.png[/IMG]
The texture is absolutely fine, I opened in Blender and the texture seems fine but when exporting from Blender and converting for XNALara this happens. I also try removing doubles because I have to on these models and then the texture on the blue parts dissapear. I know how to fix it by Flipping Normals and I do that and its blue once again.

Select the faces that have that problem and press CTRL+N.
