Oh yes I recall the octopus bleeding. I remember that because the blood had the wrong colour. Octopus blood is blue, not red.

Oh I didn't know that is blue in real life. Shame because that would be more impactful to see in the game !
I remember there's blood in TRU, the spiders blood were green too. IIRC, we can choose in the options to able or disable blood in the screen.

I totally do, it was one of my first games ever and took me ages to finish, so when I finally did (and finally actually spoke English lmao) I was mindblown by the twist at the end. Obviously by today's standards it isn't the most elaborate plot, but I genuinely enjoyed both Lara's personal issues in the story, and the blend of history and mythology. Plus, I think that the whole connecting different cultures thing was done much more cleverly and, well.... properly, than it was in Underworld. Will never quite forgive Underworld for how it kind of shat all over Legend's plot.

Well, very little people know this about cephalopods, ordinary people might have found that kinda weird to see it spouting blue blood.
The Underworld octopus was a rather weird mutant anyway, because it had two siphons (the holes were the ink comes from). Ordinary cephalopods have but one.

Oh my, a thread from 2013...

I enjoyed Legend's storyline. I felt they ran out of time for the Nepal level though...

Interesting.

Yes there is blood in Underworld, every human or animal you shoot drop blood similar to the classics. I can't stand how Legend and Anniversary totally took out the blood, it breaks the immersion and makes it all seem less believable.

I agree.

I liked that in Legend it was kind of mysterious how all of these cultures had the daisae and similar myths. It looked like they were setting it up as though the cultures of the world were previously connected by some lost great universal civilisation, which remained elusive and lost to myth in Legend.

Then Anniversary happened, introducing us to CD's take on Natla, and... a lost powerful civilisation that used to rule the world some millennia ago. The logic of where to go with Underworld should have been obvious, but they didn't make that connection.

Instead what we got was a tangent, about how the pre-Vikings inexplicably sailed around the world and, "just because", got busy building things wherever they went. It's like we almost went back to square one with a re-telling of the mysterious "similar global myths" storyline, instead of actually answering the one Legend set up.
