Rock textures look good
Glad to see that you are nearly finished, after all the struggle you have had with the texture limits |

Thank you guys.
Just a small update, i'm about 50% done with lighting and i'm satisfied enough with how it is looking. |

It's happening!
Great news.
I went into an editing frenzy for the final stretch and i have finished the lighting now. So FINALLY, i can say that this nightmare of a level is done. You know i said earlier no more showing screenshots? Screw that. I'm excited about bringing this level to you, so here are a batch of screens for general enjoyment: You have to enter that cave system to get the pistols back. Closer... You can fall from the cave to the abyss below there. An example of the massiveness of the layout, you can see a temple you have to go later from the top of the cave system. I love how this place came out, there's a little puzzle there to open the door. Don't touch the floor, it's hot! I wanted to place camera hints but for some reason the camera went crazy in this room and had to delete it. I love that golden colour for the ammo count, if i make TRNG levels in the far future i would use that font, it brings sweet memories of TR1. And your final objective here. How will you get there? I did some small retouching to some textures since making those screenshots, i'm glad i could at least make it look decent. Shame about not being able to include more statics, though. :\ I have already tested that the music and the widescreen is working. So... I need 3 volunteers now to test this. |

Another offer of help
Lovely screenshots
Hi, Just wondering about the static meshes you could not get in, this again I assume is due to being to near the limit of the data files capacity. What sort of static meshes were you trying to fit in, were they far too complex with loads of meshes, and crashed the level? It might be possible to get some 2D meshes in place rather than 3D, or a simplified 3D version, and just use the existing textures you have in your texture table. Maybe replace an unused static mesh item, if there are any unused. If you want, you could PM me a list of a few static meshes you would have liked, starting with the one you want the most, and I could try to get one at a time onto your latest mystic2.tr2 file which you could send to me as a working game. Or maybe you are just happy with what you have now on the level. if so, no problem, Cheers Chi Last edited by The Great Chi; 26-11-17 at 00:10. |

The planter for a little extra interior decoration, probably would have recoloured it to fit the theme. The other 2 are from original floating, one for each side, they don't have any texture on the flat border. I'm happy just to have it working, don't worry about it. Thanks for the offer. So who wants to test this thing? Last edited by Danath; 26-11-17 at 00:09. |
