The 'ps3 version' of TR2
So I recently bought the digital version of TR2 at playstation store, it's only 6$ now. I haven't gotten to playing it yet (have to beat Chrono Trigger and a couple of other games first o_o), but in the description it has written that this version may differ from the original version for ps1 in some places. Anyone has played this 'ps3 version' and can comment?
The most worried I am about the graphics cos I've only played the pc version, with openGL, high resolutions, 32bit and what not. Although I'm not a graphics person. Last edited by maikaal; 01-04-12 at 18:13. |

There's nothing different, graphics are the same you can also smooth em a bit.

Wow, I just checked it - it looks like crap! hehe I don't think I'll be able to play it. I have the great looking pc version in mind all the time. Couldn't they have done something :[

Did you enable the PS smoothing option. It makes a huge difference and it clears up some of the blur and the textures.

The PS graphics are worse than PC.
I've never played TR on PC but from videos, the graphics are obviously better. The only difference of TR PS1 and digital TR PS3 is the fact one is on a disc and one is digital. No other differences I found. I own all TR 1-5 on PS1 and TR 1-4 on PS3, and they are all the same. Other than the extra PS3 options they have. |

I've only played the pc version so far, but I was fool to expect more from ps1 than it is capable of. The smoothing effect doesn't make that much difference unfortunately. Pc is the king but I've abandoned pc gaming recently and become a couch gamer hehe

You'd have thought they'd have touched the game up a little bit, given it a few graphical enhancement here and there not much… just something to stop it being an EXACT port from the PS1
