Tomb of Tihocan-Questions about the cutscene inside the tomb
So, at the end of the level ''Tomb of Tihocan'', and before fighting the centaurs, we see Lara entering Tihocan's tomb, approaching the 2nd piece of the Scion, and then we see
1. an empty grave (it was supposed to contain Tihocan's body) 2. Pierre holding a gun against Lara and telling her ''You see? Instincts can be expensive mademoiselle. Yours are going to cost you both pieces of the Scion''. So, regarding all the afforementioned circumstances, I just have 2 questions: 1. Why Tihocan's grave is empty? And where is his ''body'' supposed to be, if it's not here? The game doesn't seem to give an explanation about these, and, to be honest, I don't know why they put this thing in the cutscene in the first place!!! 2. In the original game, it is quite obvious that Pierre was the first to find the Scion piece. But in Anniversary, it is not so clear IMO. So, was Pierre who found the piece first? And where was he when Lara entered the tomb? On the other hand, could it be Lara who found the piece first? And if so, why is Pierre holding the gun against her and says these things? Is it because he's so eager to gain the piece for himself, that he doesn't respect that Lara is the winner of their competition? What is your opinion about these things, ladies and gentlemen? 1. Setup that was supposed to have a pay off in a future game, but never got one, because Underworld didn't give a damn about the setups of Legend and Anniversary.
2. 'This isn't life, mademoiselle, it's business.' Pierre was willing to take the bet of who would find the scion first, but at the end of the day he was gonna take it by any means necessary. |

And Pierre was also working for Natla, but for completely different reasons. Natla obviously told Lara that this was a game she had played before with her father and Pierre did it for money. And he wanted the glory.

Pierre seems to be pretty good at hiding and finding hidden doors that Lara can't access.
As for the empty grave: Same thing as Quaolopecs robot chair suddenly starting to move: it was meant to be explained in Underworld but Crystal tossed it by the way side. Just like the time travelling stuff and the whole King Arthur myth in Legend. My guess is that Crystal wanted to make the games as diverse as the classics but with a frame story that connects the games. Though this doesn't work if there's no coherence whatsoever aside from the main characters. |

In Crystal's defense though, I always found ridiculous in the original that you would shoot Pierre 500 times throughout the Greece expedition and there he was unharmed until the very end I'm glad Crystal changed this. |

Well, Pierre must be able to fly. Maybe Natla lent him some wings? Or else he has the master builder's map for the whole complex...
