Welp, just about every new show this season has ended now, so here's my end of season review thing!

Shows listed in alphabetical order. To make stuff interesting, I bestow honours upon each show. Yes, indeed.

Amagami SS + Plus

Pretty much more of the same thing as the first series, not that that's a bad thing. Basically, ultra fluffy and sugary romance hijinks. Each one of the girls gets a 2-episode mini-arc that shows what happens after their arc in the original. It's all very cute and fluffy. Very, very fluffy.

Final rating 9/10

Honours:
Best use of Engrish (SEKUSHII UAOH)
Best Romance

Another

Final Destination: The Anime, basically. Bunch of kids die in increasingly gruesome and ridiculous ways. It's kind of like that and Higurashi, but without the random outbursts of fanservice comedy that so plagued the aforementioned. Another is dead srs for the whole run through, except for... one scene in episode 6. :3

Also I love Mei so much.

Final rating: 8/10

Honours:
Best (only) Horror
Best (only) Ali Project opening

Black★Rock Shooter (2012)

Such terrible, terrible CGI. Such awful, awful CGI. God damn.
If you want to see middle schools girls completely and utterly breaking down interspersed with very weird CGI action sequences, this is pretty much the best anime ever. The characters are... quirky, the story is kind of nonsensical, but I can't deny that the production as a whole was very fun to watch.

Final rating: 6/10

Honours:
Best (only) use of Miku Hatsune (OP)

Brave 10

It's Sengoku Basara but without the gayness.
In other words, completely worthless.

Final rating: 2/10

Honours:
It has Daisuke Ono and I guess that's something?

High School DxD

Most offensively bad thing I have ever seen in my entire life.

Final rating: 0/10

Honours:
Worst new show of the season
Worst opening (Trip -innocent of D by Larval Stage Planning)
Worst ending (Study x Study by the voice actresses)
Worst male protagonist (Issei)
Worst girl (Rias Gremory)
Worst supporting female (That one girl in episode 2)
Worst supporting male (That one guy in episode 1)
Worst ecchi
Worst action
Worst characters
Worst everything else

Inu x Boku SS

It started off kinda boring, to be honest, but it got really good around the four-episode mark, where new characters got rapidly introduced. By the end, it had evolved into a very good romantic comedy. I laughed ~several times~! D:
One of my complaints is that it didn't really have an overarching plot. It was just the premise of WEIRD PEOPLE LIVE IN WEIRD HOUSE AND DO WEIRD THINGS. Oh well lol.

Final rating: 8/10

Honours:
Best female protagonist (Ririchiyo)

Kill Me Baby

This show was kind of hit-and-miss. Sometimes it was really funny, sometimes it was just boring and repetitive. It would tend to drag on a bit, too. There's really not that much else to say except that Agiri made this thing what it is. The adventures of Yasuna the schoolgirl and Sonya the assassin were wonderful.

Final rating: 8/10

Honours:
Best ending (Futari no Kimochi no Honto no Himitsu by Yasuna and Sonya's VAs)
Best supporting female (Agiri Goshiki)

Nisemonogatari

Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy ohboyohboyohboy

This was definitely my most anticipated of the season, and with good reason. It was amazing. Every second of every episode dripped pure epicness, among other things. The wordplay. The trippy visuals. The comedic abuse. It's all there. It's all there. It's all glorious. A very worthy sequel to the majestic Bakemonogatari, one of my favourite anniemoos ever.

Basically the polar opposite of High School DxD.

Final rating: 10/10

Honours:
Best new show of the season
Best opening (Futakotome by Chiwa Saito)
Best male protagonist (Koyomi Araragi)
Best girl (Hitagi Senjougahara)
Best supporting male (Kaiki Deishuu)
Best ecchi
Best animation
Best action
Best characters
Best many other things

Papa no Iukoto wo Kisinasai!

Um, no.

Final rating: 2/10

Honours:
ummmmmmmm

Recorder to Randoseru Do

It's a 3-minute show, so there's not really much to say about it. It was funny and charming, I guess. :3

Final rating: 7/10

Honours:
Atsushi is so totally fabulous.

Symphogear

lol badly animated fight scenes melodramatic BS story lololololololol people actually watch this oh wow

Final rating: 3/10

Honours:
It has Nana Mizuki, I guess.

Persona 4 (Carried over from last season)

Well. That was a very polarizing experience.
The first half of the show was very hit-and-miss. Some episodes were good, even great, while some were pretty... non-good. The entire second half, however, continued to astound me with its consistently sky-high level of quality. Episode 15 may very well be one of my favourite anime episodes ever.

And there's going to be an OVA. Judging from the preview in the final episode, it's going to be ridiculously epic.

Now to wait five whole months for said OVA. :/

Final rating: 9.5/10

Honours:
Best everything of everything from last season.
HIDE AND SEEK IT WANTS TO PLAY AGAIN
LIKE A DETECTIVE I WON'T LET IT GET AWAY

Then there's Mirai Nikki but lol Mirai Nikki.

FINAL SEASON RATING: 7/10
It was quite the lovely season, but there was no ridiculously amazing show like last season's Fate/Zero to really make it stand out as the bestest ever.

Incidentally, Fate/Zero continues next season, in about a week.

Yes.

tl;dr: Nisemonogatari is best anime and you will deal.

Double post bump. I'm a criminal. ;_;

Sooooo, the season has pretty much officially started now. Ssssoooo here are my first impressions of what little there is so far. And stuff.

Medaka Box

One of my most anticipated shows of the season, as it is penned by Bakemonogatari's author. So far, this seems kind of like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya but with 90% more Gainax and 150% more awesome. I like.

Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? Of The Dead

Seems to be pretty much the same as the first season, but I loved that one so it's not a problem. The first episode was hilarious. I laughed many times. :'3

Acchi Kocchi

Fluff. It's like a less obnoxious Lucky Star. Character designs are cute without appearing grotesquely misshapen, central cast is likeable, this is just nice.

Sankarea

Saten from Toaru Kagaku no Railgun is back and she's pissed.

Fate/Zero in two days hnnnnnnnnnnng.

I just finished the last episode of Persona 4: the animation...

;_;

but seriously, that was the ending? HE WENT HOME?! That's sooooooo mean!

Onto the next subject, i'm now up to date with Fairy Tail, and it sucks to have to wait for new episodes! At least the season isn't near it's end, so there's more to come, but just 20 mins every week. :'(

And i keep on wondering when a new Bleach season will start, because the season ended two weeks ago. I NEED MOAR!

Anyway, need more anime tips to watch, since i'm OUT () at the moment. I'm thinking about that Fate/Zero thingie, or that anime with the crazy bullet-flying-between-bouncing-boobs scene, what was it called again?

Yep, that's the ending. He goes away. It happens in all of the game's endings. However, if it's any consolation, he goes back to Inaba in the upcoming fighting game sequel. <3

Do watch Fate/Zero. It's ~amazing~. It's recommended to watch Fate/stay night first, as Fate/Zero is a rather spoilery prequel to that very show.

And the boob animu is called Highschool of the Dead. It's great fun.

Oh... well, i didn't complete the game, since i know there'll be an extended version of it on the vita, i suspect that it'll be out late this year or early next year, since they don't have to redo ALL the voice acting... And i'll probably get the fighting game too

I suppose i'll watch Fate/Zero, but right now High School of the Dead appeals to me more

I just REALLY MISS FAIRY TAIL!!!!!!1!

At least Fairy Tail isn't over.

I miss Nisemonogatari.

It ended at only 11 episodes.

I haven't watch it yet but...are you sure that's the ending? The true ending (titled "No One Is Alone") will only be released on August 22, 2012.

I've finished P4, so I'd know. The TV ending was a rather shortened version of the game's normal ending. The OVA will be an adaptation of the game's true ending, which ties up loose ends and solves the mystery, but Yu still leaves Inaba.

Better late than never:

Winter 2012 very short reviews (images courtesy of Legend of Lara):

Another

Good show. The art was good (especially the backgrounds) and the final destination deaths made it fun to watch. The mystery and horror elements were a bit cheesy, sometimes, though.
7/10

Bakuman 2 - Started in Fall 2011

More of the same. Some parts are good and very realistic, but others are a bit unbelievable, and that makes it a bit hard to immerse. Anyway, watching a working-oriented anime is interesting.
6/10

Black Rock Shooter

It tried to ride on the success of Puella Magi Madoka Magica (cute girls doing tragic things), but it was plagued by some very bad CG and the BIG OVER THE TOP battles were very hit-and-miss. Watch it if you did not dislike the OVA, though.
6/10

Chihayafuru - Started in Fall 2011

A good sports/josei anime. I like that it's about a game not very popular outside of Japan. Also, the fact that the main character did not have any "special powers" or "techniques" made it feel believable.
7/10

Kill Me Baby

Slow-paced, and with a more typical japanese humour. It had some funny moments, and the voice actors did a great job making the characters likeable (Agiri is so chill)
6/10

Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam - Started in Fall 2011

It wasn't as great as the first season (it's actually one of my favourite anime) but it was still good to watch. The main characters could be more interesting, and it missed some of the "seriousness" of the first season. Still, airship sexyness and good sountrack.
7/10

Guilty Crown - Started in Fall 2011

Good art and soundtrack, but horrible pacing, all over the place writing, clichés, and generic and unmemorable characters made it a bad anime. The fact that one could guess what trope or cliché would be used next made it a fun anime to watch, though.
5/10

Nisemonogatari

Best anime of the season. Not as great as the prequel, though. Bakemonogatari knew how to balance all it's elements (the pun-filled dialogues, the artsy-shaft visuals, the fanservice, the plot). Nisemonogatari was bigger on the fanservice than on the other elements. It was still a great show.
8/10

Persona 4 the Animation - Started in Fall 2011

A nice adaptation of the game. A few animation and art problems, and probably confusing to watch if you have never played it before. It could have featured the "Personae" themselves more, too. The Yu Narukami character was good, though.
7/10

Recorder to Randoseru Do

The short running time was both a blessing and a curse. It didn't allow it to develop, but the gags would probably get really old fast.
6/10

Thermae Romae

A good short show. The flash animation worked well, since the art itself was good, and the humour was great too! The ED song was great. It could have been bigger, though.
6/10

Might start again watching season one of Code Geass tonight, seeing that I didn't have chance to watch it fully before.
