Default In a Heartbeat - Animated Short Impressions

So, I have just seen this animated short and I must say that these 2 guys (Beth David + Esteban Bravo) have done a great job.

I love how they created this short, despite knowing that it could create controversy, for the topic threated.

Fortunately, there hasn't been very much controversy about the short, and I'm very happy about it.

In my point of view, this animated short was needed, because I noticed that a lot of websites, wrote an article about it and they were all satisfied with the short, so maybe it made some people change their mind about gay relationships.

And also, the 2 developers said that, perhaps, In a Heartbeat could become something bigger than an animated short...they could create an entire movie. Obviously, this will require a lot of money, but In a Heartbeat already did a lot of success in the world.

So, now it's time of YOUR opinion:

What do you think about this short so far?

too stereotypical for my tastes tbh. I never liked things like this anyways.
I prefer it be shown as heavy abstract, in an unheralded way. Not noticed previously noticed, and requires the person to really use their knowledge to find the meaning.

It was a cute video, but the redhead was full-on harassing and non-consentually touching the brunette boy. Sure, it was his heart's fault but it was a part of him.

I would have kind of preferred it if it ended with the brunette returning the redhead's heart, accepting him and them becoming just friends, because the moral seems to imply if a gay kid is attracted to another boy, he will end up being gay too.

It was a nicely directed and animated film but is such a stereotypical short little story with a clichťd ending really necessary?

The short was so cute and meaningful, and I relate to that boy.

Why general chat though? There's the arts and entertainment section?

This came out a while ago didnít it?

Anyway, I can see why people think itís cute but itís very cliche for my liking. Maybe Iím just spiteful bc Iíve never had a crush on a guy and him actually like me back lol, but the situation in the video is so unlikely to happen.

Yes, ti came out the 31th July. But no one made a thread about it, so...anyway yes, the situation is very unlikely to happen xD

Also, I hate how they made the redhead the classic stupid guy. I mean, they made him like it's obvious that he's gonna be the B (if you know what I mean). I love when they make gay relationships where you can't understand who is the A and who is B like the B will be "inferior" in something.

Yeah like I understand how it makes a statement and all that but itís just so predictable. Iím the same with most gay-romance movies, they always make me roll my eyes because a lot of the time the characters arenít relatable and the storyline is some cushy love story that almost ALWAYS has a happy ending, whereas for a lot of people (like me), thatís not the reality of most gay crushes/relationships at all. Again tho, perhaps Iím just a pessimist.

Really? I thought gay romances were known for typically having sad endings.

I thought the animation was cute and appropriately cliche. Itís very Disney-like, so itís not surprising heíd reciprocate and that thereíd be a happy ending.
