Yes, these nice little touches really added to the scary atmosphere of some levels. Hope CD will carry on with such effect in Underworld.

i think it was spirits of monks or whatever in the place...not the mummies, they hiss

yep they were a nice touch to the game, freaked the hell out of me, i hope they would incorporate it in TRU

Dunno, but I loved them.
Classics did have similiar whispering voices and some random clash sounds. I just wish there would've been more of them in Anni.

Ditto. IMO The Egypt levels were the scariest, with the mummies and cats sneaking up on you like they did.

I prefer Pierre's voice in the Tomb of Tihocan (Cistern) though, Can't remember what he said. But I peed my pants laughing when I thought it was the crocodiles talking.

Ditto, especially in TR4, I think. And the strange instrumentals. It was sickeningly creepy.

And then there's the classic beating of hearts in the background, (Atlantis, Area 51, etc.)

That is what I missed most about the game! It should've been added more scary voices to freak you out!

TR4 is teh best IMO.

I think they had the same track from TR1 to TR3. The one with the heartbeat, clash sounds and random noises in Atlantis,The Wreck of Maria Doria (?) and Area 51. It suited the levels well.

See thats what I thought in the beginning too. They didnt sound like the mummies but then again the mummies sounded weird anyway. I really wished that CD wouldve included the original groaning noises that TR had for the mummies, now those were freaky. If the groans were there plus the ghostly sound effects, I wouldve most definately been freaked out. After I killed those panthers in there, and I kept hearing those voices, I thought something was going to leap out and get me so I stayed on the movable pillar platforms for a little to make sure nothing was going to get me. Once I got on the floor, I thought some ghost was going to attack. But unfortunately nothing happened. That wouldve been cool if something did

I havent played TRA since I got it when it was released. Once I beat it and went back from the unlockables/secrets, I was done. So much for replay value...

Yeah, I liked that part. But I wasn't scared.

Though, I don't know where the voices are from
