It depends. Recently, I've been attempting a no medi-pack, no scratch (damage), limited saves, pistols only (kinda), all secrets run of TR2. I’m currently up to The Deck.
Progress overview so far: The Great Wall: Pistols only, no scratch/meds, secrets x3. Venice: Pistols only, no scratch/meds, secrets x3. Bartoli's Hideout: Pistols only, no scratch/meds, secrets x3. Opera House: No scratch. Shotgun used on the 2 enemies after emerging from the lift. I eventually found it's possible to do with pistols + no scratch, but I couldn't optimize it during the actual attempt. No meds, secrets x3. Offshore Rig: Pistols only, no scratch/meds, secrets x3. Diving Area: Pistols only, no scratch/meds, secrets x3. 40 Fathoms: Pistols only, no scratch/meds, secrets x3. Wreck of the Maria Doria: Unavoidable fall damage. Pistols + M16 used on 3 enemies near the circuit breaker receptacles as I was getting pissed lol. No meds, secrets x3. Living Quarters: Pistols only, unavoidable damage from secret 2 glass shards, no meds, secrets x3. |

No scratch, all secrets and pickups, no flare, low brightness, evading all enemies except bosses where on those you use the harpoon only. All of that...
...blindfolded. |

Yeah, a no kills but the necessary ones (to get keys or puzzle objects) run would be challenging!

Unlike the previous video (which showed 1:03.8 only in the stats), I was determined to get 1:03.8 while recording. Nerve-racking stuff! For years the perfect time was considered to be 1:03.9, that is until someone uploaded a 1:03.8 run, which for some reason, doesn't really get discussed much. I guess the speedrunning community are more focused on the main game, as there have been some major developments/discoveries these last few years. |
