Croft Manor in the films
Just watched the first Tomb Raider movie today (very enjoyable movie, btw). I especially noticed the design of Croft Manor.
So, IMO, the outside is heavily inspired by the Croft Manor in TR2-TR3 (it's practically very similiar)....while, on the other hand, its inside architecture heavily inspired the Manor in LAU Trilogy (even more striking resemblance, especially the foyer and the tech room). So, what do you think about this topic? |

LAU were released years after the films so the LAU manor was inspired by the films, not the other way around. And the film manor's exterior is Hatfield House (which doesn't really look like the exterior of the classic manor at all except for both of them having red brick facades):

The outside was inspired by the hatfield house, just as the maze and a lot of other different elements.
The inside though was a set especially made fo the movie. In the LAU trilogy they based the great hall off of this movie set. I think the original is pretty as well, but I actually prefer the set one. Otherwise, I think that the Hatfield house is a great scenery for the Croft Manor.
