Oculus Rift founder backs Pro-Trump troll group, devs pull Rift support
In what might be called the stupidest story of 2016, the founder of Oculus Rift, Palmer Luckey, announced he is financially supporting a group which trolls and posts memes to generate Trump support, as well that he's dating a Gamergater.
Devs haven't taken well to the news, and some are pulling support from their products. Source My thoughts: This is why PR companies handle communications with the public. Support for Trump is especially vilified by the public, rightly so. The Gamergate thing is just icing on the cake. He should've just kept his millionaire mouth shut. |

What makes this hilarious is that Facebook bought the Rift a couple years ago from the founder, and that this money (far more than his initial Rift sales, if I remember right) is what allowed the founder to set up the meme-funneling. (I never thought I'd say that sentence.)
