Default Was Far Cry 3 the peak of the series?

As the title suggests.
I've not properly played Far Cry 2, and I haven't played the first one, but out of 3, 4 and Primal, and the small amount I've played of 2, I feel as though Far Cry 3 is definitely the strongest game of the series.
What do you guys think?

Yeah, I found FC3 to be the strongest of the series as well. Far Cry 4 felt like a retread of FC3 with new characters and a new environment.

Yea FC3 was the high point of the franchise then FC4 reused the formula that worked with FC3 which was ok to me. FC Primal was just silly to be honest,

I never thought the franchise was anything too special. The first game was basically a tech demo for a new game engine, and every sequel never really stood out.

From a game design standpoint a lot of people compliment FC2, though not a lot of people think it's a very fun game.

But I never hear people talk about FC3 or FC4 nowadays. I just don't think any of the games are that memorable outside of FC2's somewhat interesting ideas.

I actually prefer Far Cry 4 to 3. I liked the environment, characters, and story a lot more.

My first Far Cry game was 4. Personally, I loved it. Characters, location, mission choice/ developement. Currently dabbling in Primal and nowhere near as caught up in the story as I was with 4. I'm interested to see how I would get on if I was to now play the earlier games!
