That is not clearly true. You can post in old threads if the thing you post is not a meaningless bump. "Meaningless bump" in an old thread is eg. if you post only to ask "what about this thing?" or if the topic there has already lost its actuality (because eg. the question there has already been answered there) etc.

on the other hand, you don't allow opening new thread for old topics. ... And for anyone to use the forum, they have to be familar with the forum as you, knowing whether the forum has an old post and if yes, where they are. Or they have to use the search function every time if they want to say something, and even after the search, they have to decide according to the rules whether to post on the original thread or start a new thread.
Thread redundancy is also meaningless. However, you are not compelled to search for old threads with similar topics. But, yes, if you are new, and start a new thread with a well-known topic already having a thread, then a moderator will interfere sooner or later. Not against you, only to drive you to the path where other users are already discussing that topic.

If you want to talk more about this, then, please choose another thread, we are offtopic here with that.

----
EDIT:
See eg. the sound request thread. Sometimes there is more than one year "pause" between the posts. But nobody says it is a bump, because they post with the reason of the topic: asking a sound. And there is no other sound request thread, because the builders here know where to ask them.

I blame Clara Masha and Sponge
They announced the soon release of Ice Age 3
Then the server collapsed under the weight of hype

I've been tempted to create my own TRLE hosting website, a bit more of a modern take which allows for true user profiles, and a bit more front end functionality for both users and builders.

I'll close the other ones, but, please, the next time, don't open a new thread for this problem, only simply post HERE.

Thank you.

Well that by definition is overkill...

I can offer TRLE.net some server resources. Drop me a PM if you're interested Michael. Good luck with getting back online.

Are we going to report "down", "back again" all the time though? It really isn't necessary, until Michael himself finally tells us it's back for good.

Please do; I could never forgive that man for what he did.
