eData Security is blocking Live Messenger!
Hi,
After a long time of not using MSN Messenger at all, and a new laptop, I wanted to install it again. Now I have it, but it doesn't work. When I try to log in, the program shuts itself off. This error screen appears: Apparently some program installed on the laptop by Acer, 'eData Security', is blocking this version of Messenger. Do you tech guys think it's safe to just uninstall this eData Security, or should I try to update it and see what happens? Thanks in advance! Last edited by Love2Raid; 28-06-09 at 22:06. |

Ohhh, I did....
Check your aswell.. Anyways: Ontopic: I never had problems with eDate and MSN. Maybe eData is blocking it, because of the unfinished version of MSN... It is a Beta version, right?? |

Thanks everyone!!
I have installed the updated version of eData Security Management and I can use MSN now, so if anyone has the same problem. This is the solution. The update can be found here: http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/download.htm (you must select your location and laptop series first) I am not very happy about all these 'useful' programs Acer has installed on this laptop, I have read some people got trouble when trying to uninstall... :/ Last edited by Love2Raid; 30-06-09 at 17:41. |

I've always found the Acer bloatware to be rather pants, and uninstalled it as soon as I got my laptop. And even when formatting, I never bothered to install them back again. I always found them to be the reason for slow-downs.
