Southern Mexico > DLC (I didn't get to play it but I watched the walkthroughs) > Coastal Thailand > Jan Mayan Island > Arctic Sea > Mediterranean Sea > Croft Manor
Mexico is the only good level in the initial game though. Everything else was just wasted potential. Last edited by just*raidin*tomb; 08-03-12 at 21:50. |

Didn't fancy Mexico much. Bit damp and dismal and the bike was a pain. Coastal Thailand and the others were awesome. The giant hammer room was'nt such a pleasant place but a stunning and frightening experience. Looking forward to playing it again. Hopefully less awestruck this time.

- The motorbike is fun to use - Mayan ruins are neat - The weather effects in the first two levels are AMAZING - The jungle is nice and big, there's lots to explore - Great puzzle for getting into Xibalba, the timed run was particularly good - Giant spiders = FTW - Dripping with atmosphere (figuratively and literally) - The 4 challenge rooms in The Midgard Serpent are great, I love the entire concept of that level - Lots of great climbing sequences - Room with eitr fountains looks cool and is fun to explore - Relic is quite cleverly hidden Overall, I think Southern Mexico is Crystal Dynamics' best original Tomb Raider production to date. St. Francis Folly takes the cake for best production, but the idea wasn't theirs. |

1. Jan Mayan Island
I love this level. Its very atmospheric. Plenty of climbing and traversal. Plus the level has some of my favourite pieces from the score. 2. Mediterranean Sea I just love this section. I enjoy the gameplay and it features some of the most prettiest environments in the game (Thor's Gauntlet Room *U*) 3. Coastal Thailand Atmospheric, lengthy and varied. In my opinion, anyway. 4. Arctic Sea I love the Deep Sea segments. Expansive environments that ooze atmosphere. I enjoy the final portion of the level too. 5. Southern Mexico I think I prefer the second portion of this level to the first. Xibalba is great. The trials are fab. 6. Croft Manor I enjoy this level. However, there isn't any standout moments. 7. Andaman Sea Whilst I like it, it definitely feels like a filler section as its the same ship, reused from the Mediterranean. No variations at all. |

Beneath the ashes pretty much wiped the floor with the entirety of the main game in all honesty. Best level design by CD IMO.
