I'm not sure if anyone realized but this was a bump. Anyway i've finally come to terms with the fact no one will do anything with AOD ever so .

Don't be down-hearted hun. There are many excellent fan-creations both completed and in-progress that have tried (and are trying!) to do justice to the story.

Have a look around on trle.net and fanfiction.net, and that's just for starters. Lara's Boyfr and others are eyeball-deep in The Lost Dominion (a custom trle AoD sequel) as we speak, and I've got something big up my sleeve on its way too

The story may have been dropped by Eidos, but it's alive and well in the fan community - we know what we want, like and deserve after all

Notice that, in the original plan and arrangement, Germany and Turkey locations were in between Paris and the Strahov. So the ending of AOD as we got it IS the ending to the whole, complete, uncut game.

Besides, depending on the way you look at it, it's pretty clear that Kurtis is dead and Lara inherits the Chirugai. Why the weapon "reacts" when she gets it is debatable, of course. It could be that Kurtis is still alive, but it could mean that it reacts to Lara, as well, so it can become her weapon. Think about it: if Core would have been kept in charge, and they would have decided Kurtis was dead for the next game, it would have made complete sense. Kurtis was on trial. They would be keeping him or not depending on the character reception by the fans. So they excelled making his "death" ambiguous, so it would feel natural that he was dead OR alive for the next game.

In sum, the ending looks open, but it could be well considered a complete closure to the story.
I totally agree with this. It has to be the best ending to a Tomb Raider game I have ever seen, the perfect way to end the series. With a bang.

It brings me closure, but I still wouldn't mind more.

I also liked AOD as well and had a sad ending because that marked the end of classic lara. And this thread was bumped.

Haha as long as we all buy CD's games, hope wont help us much

The only think which can rescue us AoD fans would be if an AoD fan will have a leading position at Crystal Dynamics (what Karl Stewart has now)

Karl Stewart is riding a pink horse right now in the TR Reboot thread so maybe it's a good moment to replace him?
