I doubt it had anything to do with the petition. Online petitions rarely get anything done here, I don't see why the Ugandan government would take notice of one. |

The more I read, the more I assume it was threats of restricted international aid that did it. |

Why don't they spend their time productively criminalising things like rape and murder, instead of punishing innocent gay people.

It's only been taken away temporarily, it's been dropped from the agenda at the current meeting, but it could very well appear on the next one, is what some UK papers are saying, so keep your guard up guys. This issue could rear its ugle head again in the not too distant future.

Seriously, African leaders are among the most corrupt in the world, no wonder why their economy never evolves, moreover, radical Christianity has expanded these recent years in Uganda and religion is not going to bring anything positive for the moment especially when extreme poverty is ubiquitous. |

you know the things that are against humanity are not gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders, etc. but ignorance, hatred and stupidity. uganda's full of it, and therefore uganda should be wiped off the map coz they're so hateful! and as for the petition i signed it, shared it to my wall, tweeted it a dozen times, especially to lady gaga herself and told most of my friends to sign it. i hate this law as much as i hate anything in the world!
