I would personally add a bit of red light coming from the red water, but that's up to you indeed It doesn't need to glow at all, but I think it would add a bit to the atmosphere

OK. I'll see how a red glow looks. Quoting myself below as I wanted to use lava textures but ran into the issue quoted below.

Can anyone provide an answer if possible?

I now have a hub area!

Screenshots below. Possibly many errors that need correcting but I like it so far.

Also, I have a working waterfall but I may need a different horizon.

Looking good
Try to variate the lighting, for example in the third screen you can do some holes in the ceiling (also with the leafs textures that you put now) and put a Spot bulb for add some light on the floor

OK. I'll give that a try.

I have a few plant objects from TR3 and TR3 Gold but are there any other plant objects I can use?

Also, this room exceeds the 20 block render distance (if that's what it's called), so the horizon shows in the distance upon entering. How can I avoid this without obscuring the view?

On options section, put WorldFarView= 127
Or if you want just that on one level, put that on level section, LevelFarWiew= 127
About plants, you can check on trsearch.org, there are so many of them here

Amazing. Thanks, LoreRaider.

I may redo the top of the room as many things went odd with the alignment which messed up the original plan, but the screenshots show the basic idea of what it will look like.

I want to make this into more than one level but not sure yet, although that's not too important right now.

I have redone the top area of the hub room and now I think it looks much better

Now to plan the next objective.

The atmosphere looks so great!
Well there are some things like in the last screenshot where you could improve a little bit (there's a square "pit" in the leaves, it would look better with a transition texture, but according to your post before it's temporary), but overall it looks really interesting.
Maybe for the beginning slide you could add some rock. And in the river in the last one, maybe you could use some gravel or pebbles if you have a texture for it?
Anyway, that's promising.

The "square pit" in question is actually another tree top obscuring the view of the hole in the top. Here's a screenshot of the same gap in the leaves with Lara on top of the tree.

Although some transition textures on the middle portal may look better.
