Depending on what you prefer, there are two ways to approach the wallrun:

1) Keep the camera looking forward where you want to go with the wall to one side so that you're alternating between up and down (or W and S) while you run back and forth. Then press jump and up to jump forward, or jump and away from the wall (left or right, or A or D) to have Lara jump off perpendicular to the wall.

2) Keep the camera pointed at the wall so that you're alternating between left and right (or A and D) to swing back and forth. Then you can jump sideways by jumping while you press that button, or jump away from the wall by jumping and pressing down (S).

You may find one method to be easier than the other, so try out both ways if you are having trouble with it. Lara's gym in the manor is a good place to practice until you get the hang of it

She stops if rope is too short, try to rope down a bit.

That's a good point. In my experience, if you jump to the wall run from the "correct" route (not that there's much choice...) then she'll automatically attach at the right height. However there are a few places where you do need to adjust the rope height (especially if you're going for a secret). You can also look if the wall texture has scrape marks on it because that usually indicates where Lara should run back and forth.

That's correct, now I remember. There was a lot of such situations especially in Egypt. I play PSP version where you need to push jump button twice to attach the hook, if you do it too quickly Lara hangs too high so you need to adjust it. I don't know how it was on other platforms though, I haven't played on other consoles.

I was able to do the wall run on my PS2 version very easily but on the PC version it can be tricky.

Only if you play the PC version using a mouse and keyboard (which no sensible person would do). If you use a gamepad with the PC it's just the same as if playing on a console.

The wall run was such a pain to do in the Damocles room in St Franics Folly, any walls with retracting blades in Egypt and in the Great pyramid level of Atlantis
