Why does she hang from here?
On the assult course on the Home level where you are supposed to do the side jumps and that (before the monkey swing area), on each of the towers you stand on there is a gap on each of them half way up where Lara can hand and even shimmey on. So my question is why can she do that on them towers.
Here is a screenshot showing you hanging on one. |

she can hang there because the ceiling and floor meet each other (it isn't technicaly a wall) :
_Lara can hang on the edge of floors _The ceiling is obscuring the ledge |

But why would Core build it like that?

The designers allowed her to do that.

If it isn't a technical mistake then I wonder what it could be then?

Obviously it's a technical mistake. The level designer pressed the raise floor/lower ceiling buttons instead of the wall button in the Editor.
