Here are just a few of my many works in progress. Sorry for the bad quality, I don't scan my works in progress usually so I apologize for the grayness.
As usual, click on the images for a larger size. |

Just like? I love them. I've always loved your art style; it's simple yet distinctive. You should definitely post more.

I'm really liking your art, Sarah. There's a sort of 1950s poster vibe about some of them. Your Lara art is stunning!
I'm no artist, but there seems something a bit off with this one: http://i46.************/2r7rnyv.jpg Her left breast seems out of proportion. It could be the angle she's standing, but it just looks odd to me. |

I see what you mean (you are talking about her left and our right, right?). I'll try to edit that a bit. Nothing's concrete at this point with those works in progress, so it's good to know the little quirks to fix them. Thank you, hun! ------- Well, I have some more, since you guys are interested. I've been doing for awhile now, some realistic comic characters. The goal of this is to try and master the character from a comic and put it into art as realistic looking as possible. I started drawing portraits (those were my first versions of drawing people) and it's good to go back on that and improvise and improve. Here are some of the characters (Supergirl above is one of them, just so you get my drift).
From top to bottom. Wonder Woman, Grace, Huntress, Lady Blackhawk. I'll post some more recent ones in a bit. I'm glad you guys like my work. Here's another random Lara drawing that I did awhile ago. Because you have all been so nice to me, I figured I should show some good scans (or least half way decent scans) of some of my works in progress. As usual, click on the images for a larger version.
1. Lara in Kazakhstan - This is part of my Tomb Raider Calendar and a sister piece to my Tibetan Lara that you see on the front page. I'm basically making sure I do a Lara Croft piece every month by drawing her in settings that correspondence with the month. For example, January Lara (Lara in Tibet), and now Kazakhstan Lara (for February, both winter months). This one I need to finish the soonest considering I'm already late. 2. Grace from Soulfire - This is just a continuation of the progress I've made on the piece I showed earlier.
3. Hand study from the Captive Curse - This is just a study and practice for hand anatomy, shading and highlight. It comes from the Nancy Drew game, The Captive Curse cover. I'll be using white gel pen for glistens of the jewel. 4. The Independent - This is a character from the Assassin's Creed III multiplayer and just so happens to be my favorite character. However, this isn't her regular outfit. The outfit is a special edition outfit, 'the Warrior' that you can't get anymore. I just started grafting the outfit ('grafting' is just laying the base of the outfit in sketch form). 5. The Sheriff of Lynchwood - Surprisingly, I decided to add this character from Borderlands 2 into my Borderlands project. I am drawing all the characters that I really like in pin up forms. I should of drawn Tiny Tina first, but I'm really struggling drawing children so I'll probably make an adult form of her. Anyways, the grafting started last night on the Sheriff. 6. Lady Blackhawk - Again, just a continuation of my progress from the last scan. 7. Really, really fast Lara Sketch - Simple as that. This was done forever ago but this is what I've got and I didn't really know much about the new game yet. I plan to have her against the roof of a pagoda. 8. Underworld Cartoon Lara - This was actually a bet between me and friend that I can't seem to finish. He asked me how cartoony I could get with my artwork, and I produced this. At least it's almost done. 9. Cave Base Lara - I this right away as soon as I heard of the campfire bases in the new Tomb Raider. I will try and digitally color this. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to give an illumination lighting source (the fire)? I would really appreciate tips! 10. Lilith and Maya - Another test of cartoon study but it will be Maya and Lilith from Borderlands (both Sirens with magical powers). 11. Princess Lolly - This is one of the next characters from my Candyland project that Chocola Teapot knows all about. <3 12. Queen Frostine - Just as the same as Princess Lolly, a part from my Candyland project. 13. Wonder Woman - Continuation of my progress from the last shot from my Wonder Woman picture. 14. Sola Wetsuit Lara - This will most likely be June for my Tomb Raider Calendar Project. Well, I think that's enough for now on here. Phew! And lol, that's not even near all of my WIPs. |

I got really bored. I found these sketches that another artist did (please if anyone has his name, give it to me so I can give credit) and decided to color them in Gimp. What do you all think?

Golly gumdrops, Sarah. Those are gorgeous.
It's a lovely selection of images, really showing off your versatility as an artist. The way you draw Lara's face for a start, you make her face look extremely beautiful, Well, you make everyone's beautiful but Lara's in the Sola Wetsuit is ravishing. I can't wait to see your colour version of campfire Lara, the picture's already very atmospheric. Lolly and Frostine are going to look damn amazing in colour, too. Beautiful stuff, lovely details. |
