Question TRViewer crashes!

Hello I have another problem. TRViewer crashes for me every time when I want to open a TR2 file.

I get this error message:

Command 0 unknown in Anim commands list. Aborting TR Viewer!!

What can I do?

Hi TheWolf,

That error may happen when you have an animCommand entry in any moveable pointing to a wrong address into the general animCommand List.

Are trying to open a .tr2 level file of tomb raider II or Tomb Raider III?

Lightbulb

That happens to me whenever a base file becomes corrupt, by a movable being incorrect. It won't open for me no matter how i try, the only solution i found is recreating the base file again.

Keep in mind, if you are changing object textures via importing in TRViewer like i do, that a movable can become corrupt by having an incorrect ID number. You will have to take note of the ID number and when you change the object, check if its ID is still correct. If not, enter it manually again, so it doesn't get corrupt.

The error does only occur after I used Fexmerger, but the object I changed / added has the correct ID number

Yep, that also happened to me a few times. Using both TRV and FexM can corrupt my base file, even if the ID is shown as correct as you say. Don't know why that happens, but always keep a duplicate of your current base just in case something gets screwed like now.

This happens to me a lot, edit what you can with TRviewer, then use Fexmerger

Hello there,

As I see you are a group of talented builders, I decided to code a little tool to fix that problem when you open a corrupted *.tr2 file with Trviewer.

The problem is that FexMerger generates a wrong animCommand entry that points nowhere, and Trviever doesn't know how to interpret this entry. What do my tool is to fix this entry, then Trviewer is able to open file.

You need to Load the buggy level, then click on Fix! button, a msg Box will show up, then you need to save!
You are ready to open it again with Trviewer!

Here I let you the download link below to MediaFire.

Good Luck!
